¿Question #228762?
PolarDad: Are there any artists (painter, musician, actor, dancer, writer, etc) that you continue to choose to enjoy their work even though you have major disagreements with some of their personal views or past actions?
rayzg: I'm constantly looking for new artists, so this isn't really an issue for me. And in most cases, I'm totally unaware of their personal views.
imyourskribe: I don’t give two diddles what an artist’s personal views or actions are. If I am even made aware, I have no problem continuing to consume their body of work.
MediisSoccusSacerdos: A very large number of them- especially with stuff from around the golden age of science fiction, if I ignored all the stuff by fascists, communists, racists, misogynists, etc, I would have a much smaller body of work to enjoy.
pricero1: I still enjoy the music produced by Phil Spector and I haven't stopped listening to Van Morrison's music even though what he has been saying about Covid-19 is totally ga-ga.
mattomaw: I can enjoy Eric Gills lettering even though he was a sexual abuser and general fascist. Although it very much does taint my enjoyment of his lettering.
Derang3d: There's a few lines you shouldn't cross, but mostly the answer is "yes, all of them".
Woelf: I still like listening to most older stuff by The Smashing Pumpkins, even though Billy Corgan is kind of a nut job.
BOBBYCAN: Lots of them.
