¿Question #228778?
Jedadeana: You know what's insane? The cost of bridal hair! For a trial and wedding day combined, it's $300!!! Apparently it's normal for bridal hairstyles to be anywhere from $100 to $180!!! Or more!!! ......What's the last unexpected cost that shocked you?
Derang3d: Why do you need a fancy hairdo for the trial? Isn't it supposed to be bad luck for the groom to see the bride all dished out like that before the organ starts playing? Update: Ah well that does make sense, kinda - but I'd think they'd know what they were doing. Thought "trial wedding", not "trial hairdo" :). Have I wished you all the luck yet?
Jedadeana: I didn't even want anything fancy....... ugh. (My Mom wants to pay for my hairstyle, even after hearing the costs, but it's killing me to think about) /// UPDATE: Deranged- Who says he'll see it? Haha. They can certainly undo the "do" afterwards, but the trial is to make sure they can create a hairstyle you love and figure out how long everything will take, and which tools, products, etc they will need to bring if they meet you on site to do the hairstyle. But as far as I know, it's supposed to be seeing the bride at all before the wedding that's considered "unlucky." Nowadays as the day/night beforehand, and more specifically nowadays also to seeing the dress at all beforehand. Haven't heard anything about hair specifically but probably depends on the culture. However, the entire "tradition" started because of arranged marriages where they had ussually not met beforehand at all, and after seeing each other/meeting, one or both if them might decide to run away before the wedding to avoid that particular match. Oh, and I'm having an outdoor ceremony (will take place on an old wooden covered bridge) so no organ music for me
pricero1: If you ask nicely you may be able to borrow puffinge's wig instead.
magikaru: If you don’t tell them it’s for a wedding, it will cost you half as much
imyourskribe: Yeah, that’s a wedding thing. But Pdad’s correct. I can and will do your hair for the big day.
PolarDad: Geoff can do your hair for free.
RealGuest: Everything wedding related is 5 to 10 times more expensive just because
