ThroughTheDeckGlass: Corvids (ravens, crows, magpies) would be a fun, intelligent, personable pet. Or something like a lyrebird would just freak people out with all of the sounds they can imitate. But I'd stay away from big predators, because even if you raise them from a baby, they can still maul you to death.

BOBBYCAN: Crows are okay, but ravens are more intelligent and graceful as they dig thru dumpsters.
