¿Question #228877?
imyourskribe: You can take a day trip to Paris from London apparently. I didn’t realize that that was practical. When’s the last time you were on a high speed train?
BOBBYCAN: I'm waiting to ride the bullet train in California with Phil.
TomTi89: Bullet train in 2017. We will be taking the train to Paris very soon, but not for a day trip. It will be part of a wider European trip.
Grimsalt: 10 years ago I took the TGV from Paris to Lyon and back, it was faster than by plane. I gave up on trying to take photos because the landscape just bled into very long streaks. I honestly don't know why they bother with windows at Warp 9.
Derang3d: TGV, never. Beware Paris syndrome :). A day is quite short for Paris, much as a week is short in Londen ^^. Also, don't go to Amsterdam if you can help it.
mattomaw: There are only two trains in Ireland and they are 50 years old and they go really slowly.
Blinko: 2019, northern Italy right before Covid was all the rage.
pricero1: Post-BREXIT that is likely to be much less practical.
Woelf: Never, unfortunately.
MABBY: Italy 2012. We went from Rome to Venice in around 5 hours and that includes a tunnel under a mountain near Bologna. Our Venice to Florence trip, on the way back under that mountain, was around 3 hours if I recall correctly.
