¿Question #229418?
Blinko: Should we share with BGG Marketplace the way to avoid shut-down? I mean is there any other area of BGG that has had the imminent shutdown notice atop their page as long as GQs?
Woelf: They're not making or losing any money by keeping us here, and this back alley is pretty well-hidden at this point with the main entrance bricked up by that banner, so it's much lower priority now.

pwilz: Look, y'all can still make auction geeklists and use them to list games you want to sell. It's just going to have to be through PayPal or whatever you arrange like it was before. I really don't see what the terrific tragedy is here.
Derang3d: I don't think there's laws against GQ. Yet.
PolarDad: In GeekChat, we just had an admin/tech guy come into chat and say 'this is over today'. A couple hours later, it was gone.
pricero1: It's because it will take a degree of effort to get rid of us. Not much perhaps, but more than they've got available at the moment.
Blinko: RealGuest, you do not understand the power of the GQcoin. And these babies reside back here in the Urine Stained Back Alley, the place of power brokers and broken dreams.
RealGuest: I don't recall shutdown notices before the pink blight we have here. It seems like they just maybe made a quick announcement and pulled the plug. It's hard to say why we are lingering and what, if anything, would actually help the marketplace. I think they are deadset on replacing it with the classifieds, to wash their hands of any ongoing liability. That seems to be the main concern these days.
