PolarDad: If they serve a purpose, I'm ok with it. If it is done just because it has always been done, I'm out.
pricero1: They are fine unless they are used to keep a country looking backwards to a fictional golden age.
Derang3d: I like traditions very much, even started a few in my day - the overcommercialization of said traditions is a travesty.
