¿Question #229774?
Grimsalt: Should we concern ourselves with freedom of speech on BGG?
imyourskribe: When GQ is gone, I don't give two shits what they do with the speech on BGG. I intend on using it for nothing but rules queries at that point, and if I didn't have it available for that I'd manage.
PolarDad: We may have free speech but there are still often consequences to what we say.
RealGuest: Only if you want to say something
mattomaw: I am not concerned. If it ended up being something I did not like, I would just stop using it.
Woelf: No more or less than you do at any other privately-owned/run website with a clear set of posted rules. You can never take threads like that at face value, because they *always* leave out key details to make themselves sound more sympathetic. Like how that one probably started out as just a simple warning, but instead of accepting it and moving on without any further incident, they decided to escalate the situation by being a belligerent dick to the moderator, who actually banned them for that rather than the initial minor incident.
Derang3d: I don't believe all of that is up front - you'd have to be really harsh to be permabanned, and proudly wearing a "Mods suck" badge is really only appropriate for Rockers. Other than that, I do try to keep from getting in any argument whatsoever nowadays, and I do think that overusing censorship isn't the way. This isn't really a fitting medium to discuss anything, but sadly it's probably the wisest place to do so :/.
