¿Question #229896?
mattomaw: Serendipity with sparkous - So NASA is going back to the moon. Now, I understand the need for tests etc and they are doing a whole load "to see if it is safe to carry astronauts" the news here reported. But didn't they already do most of these tests in the 60s and 70s? What is so different now that they have to do them all again?

MABBY: Back in the '60s America didn't have 96-ounce soft drinks and Quadruple Fat Burgers with extra cheese. They also need to design a special pocket and gloves to work a mobile phone, because God forbid the astronauts can't take selfies, check email and Rotten Tomatoes reviews, and play Candy Crush in the 15 minutes that they are sitting around "doing nothing anyway".
BOBBYCAN: Completely new equipment, and built by the lowest bidders. Gotta test, especially before putting people in them.
PolarDad: They left some stuff up there and they are going back to get it.
sparkous: And that's a lot of money to launch fake plastic astronauts.
Derang3d: Hmm. Well I suppose they need to carry a lot more stuff. They're gonna build things, aren't they? IDK haven't paid all that much attention to it.
pricero1: They now have Microsoft software, so of course they need to do tests again. Would you trust Microsoft?
