Woelf: I usually tell the bagger to pick whichever is easier for them, because most products fit much better in one type of bag than the other. (Back in high school I worked at a grocery store for a couple years.)

Randy Cox: Whatever is most convenient for the bagger. At least that's what I say to get on their good side so they don't put the meat or cleaning solutions in with things I care to eat. But if I were deciding, I'd probably say Paper, though I'm not sure it's more eco-friendly.

AlorielLelyn: Both are problematic wastes of natural resources. Cloth bags are the only way to solve the problem since cloth is a renewable resource, as well as being reusable with a simple washing.
