boneroller: One of the most useless things I can think of is a shrinkwrapped game -- tear them open and play them to tatters! What's your opinion?

DasViktor: Sometimes I buy multiple games. As there is only so much time and so many games, I open them when I get a chance to play them.

Megadev: I mostly agree. Collecting for collecting's sake is silly. However, I don't think it is the most useless thing (the words 'on' and 'off' on a light switch).

Chris Page: Plastic wrap is useless, you're right. I prefer hermetically sealed, temperature controlled, humidity controlled glass display cases, with movable coverings so they aren't damaged due to light overexposure.

scriptorum: There's a certain tactile bliss in a shrinkwrapped game, and a peculiar pleasure sustaining the urge to open it.
skrutsch: They should be played. I remember by brother yelling at my niece, his daughter, on Christmas because she ripped the band around her American Girl Doll box. It would bring the value down.
Musti: Shrinkwrapped games just beg to be opened. To feel the new parts and smell the new game. To punch those cardboards and admire the cards. Aaah, new games.....

skelebone: I have a lot of games in shrink because I bought them too fast to play them. I've not broken the shrink because they're wrapped up in a tidy little package that I will open when ready.
