puffinge: I love the Ellery Queen mysteries. I don't know of another team that wrote novels and used a pseudonym the same as the major character. Dixon wrote the Hardy Boys.
MisterCranky: Ah, but Melissa, you delightful geek you! You forgot the requirement that the "author" must also be the name of the team's principle character. If Carolyn were called Nancy Drew, then that would work. I don't know Dixon's work, so I can't say if "he" qualifies.
