¿Question #2612?
puffinge: I can't win at Ticket to Ride: Europe. Any strategy tips? Alan?
Svengaard: Flipping the table won't hurt your win/loss ratio.
cowboycw: take the shortest tickets and try to keep it in the middle of the board.
Spirit of 70: I've never played it, sorry.
Woelf: Berlin is key. Connect a train to there and you are guaranteed to win... eventually.
pwilz: Work toward getting the one long route. Don't play with my wife. She always wins TTR.
weed131: build the long track at the top
Felimid: I haven't won at it either, but it's still fun.
Zedsdead: Whenever a locomotive comes up, grab it immediately. Try to get routes on opposite sides of the board to diversify your points of attack. And use all your stations if possible; stations are like extra trains!
Aetheros: Play Elfenland instead.
Numskull: If it says "Edinburgh", throw it away.
fenwic: Cheat.
cvandyk: Try to make connections that are 4 trains long or more (more efficient and more points), avoid areas with tunnels, use the Eastern side of the board, block your opponents
aleo09: get more points than the other guy
1000rpm: Take a lot of cards.
jtrleone: Like he'd answer. Play solo. You can't lose.
DHEK: I'll have to see what you're actually doing wrong to give you corrective tips. Maybe you can look for tips in the game's page. If that doesn't work, try playing with newbies. If that still doesn't work, play with yourself.
Eric Haas: Draw more tickets.
POvidiusNaso: Hoard cards.
scriptorum: Go for long overlapping routes. Don't worry so much about your opponents. Save your stations til the end.
Chris Page: Consider solitaire play.
Billtje: play another game (one in which you can actually use a strategy for example)
jtj608: Buy the 8-link first.
MaksimSmelchak: Finish your small routes first and try to find routes that connect to each other.
B_J_S: go for the long roads
bigbadsteve: play the beatles song over and over throughout the game. eventually, the people you are playing against...oh, wait, i am steve. oops, my bad. sorry d00d
SisyphusX: Get more tickets.
HamsterOfFury: Try harder
brainrob: Play better
hacksword: Play Age of Steam.
Tushratta: Stop playing and you'll stop losing.
Loquutus: Play a better game.
vetinari7878: Don't go for the longest route.
mgringo: Concentrate on building a small network of routes in clusters and then attach them to make your goals. You need to be smart about choosing which routes to do, but you can make your success more certain by getting at least one route through the center where most of the action is.
arkibet: throw away your long route.
darthcliff: The only winning move is not to play.
GrandpaDave: Nope
MisterCranky: Play better.
skrutsch: Sorry, only played once. I think I lost. Will play more soon.
Thedalek: If your station can net you more than 4 points, use it. If it's a matter of losing 10 points to a bad ticket or gaining 6 by completing it with a station, the solution is obvious. Familiarize yourself with the tickets and the geography of the board. Block.
ValJor: I haven't played the game yet, sorry
chux vomitus: Strategy? Don' t play the pile of shite
erli: Try to make all your tickets and get new ones. Don't be afraid to use the stations.
Lord_Prussian: I have no idea
The Unbeliever: 42
Nomadik: no
davedanger: Insert game in fireplace. Light match. Apply lightly to game. Enjoy warmth.
kimapesan: Try taking more destinations.
Karlsen: Play stupid people
DangerMouse: Even Alan can't help you Bill.
djlg: Build tracks in useful locations. My name's not Alan.
heli: Never take any face up cards. Instead always just take 2 hidden ones. Never play any cards until around turn 18 or 19, then finish all your routes and end the game.
Randy Cox: You have to actually play the game. That is, build a good network and complete lots of routes. Since the build-all-5s-&-6s strategy of TTR is gone, you gotta play out a networking game. But then it seems to come down to the ticket draws and timing. So, it feels more like building a model railroad and watching to see who wins. Whereas in TTR, I feel in control.
puffinge: Invading Poland didn't work!
2amp: never played
skelebone: Use the longer routes? Invade Poland?
chaddyboy_2000: Win.
jttm: Cheat. Sit next to the destination cards, and swap whenever possible.
snoozefest: cheat
CDRodeffer: Hmmm. Long route or many short ones?
