starbug: I'm not sure I can say this is a favorite per se, but I've always been amused by all the rhymes Richard Thompson came up with to match with the phrase "waiting for Valerie" -- "I can't stand to see one more calorie", "She never gets home 'til five or four or three" and "I can't afford her on my salary". Then again, Shriekback should get a nod for "big black Nemesis/parthenogenesis".
