¿Question #2712?
puffinge: Why is it that everyone seems to like a different monopoly token? Is this a psychological experiment just waiting to happen?
ocdspectrum: WHat? Who likes the Iron?
mattimeo84: Perhaps it means something personal to them. My grandpa was in the navy, I always go with the battleship. The other reason is maybe its just their favorite, like the thimble is equivilent to orange, their favorite color
bcooperok: I always choose to play the bullet.
MisterCranky: I would be willing to bet that if you sat on that cannon once or twice, you'd start liking the top hat.
Hendal: No , it comes from all the cool figures in Heroscape
Kobold Curry Chef: I'm sure it's been done.
Numskull: Actually, when I was a kid, I remember everybody liking the race car.
falloutfan: Probably! I like the race car. The shoe is cool also.
2amp: i think so. i want to be the car
WatchmanX2000: they do? is it?
cgund: Boring.
Randy Cox: I would think someone already has done a dissertation on this phenomenon. I get the car.
earthvssoup: I usually like to be the Capitalist headgear.
WonderLlama: Not true. I don't think I'm even the only one that likes to put the hat on the shoe.
aleo09: could be
Elf__Man: No, the car is best... everyone 'knows' it.
DHEK: It's just personal preference. Just like preference of token color. I don't think there's any psychological experiment going on, although you could try to read something into people's choices... doubt it would be very accurate though.
WalkerRedEye: we all usd to fight over the battleship
KentuckyKid: I hate all Monopoly tokens. What does that say about me.
POvidiusNaso: Everyone I know always wants the racecar.
ganska: well get working on it, dog.
Leo-T: Mine was always the ship. Must be my preoccupation with water and the sea. Sounds pretty psycho to me.
Cut & Space: NOW, NOW... it's not EVERYBODY that likes different token... there's not like a million token... OKAY!!! Mr I-JUMP-TO-CONCLUSION!!! ;-p
dmomo: Yes.
MaksimSmelchak: You should dedicate your life to exploring this query, Bill.
DLWormwood: Yes (Mine's the car, BTW)
ibemichael: I like the iron
RumRunner: No, it's all in your mind.
bigbadsteve: we are all just guinea pigs in the parker bros. evil science lab
brainrob: who cares?
confuse_a_cat: It's a simple psychological test. Anyone who doesn't prefer the dog is insane.
Loquutus: Dunno. Sure is.
puffinge: People like different things, puffinge, get over it.
dietevil: Hopefully not, the government wastes enough of our money as it is
kimapesan: You don't seem to realize that the aliens have been observing our Monopoly choices for nearly a century now, and are planning on using this information to their advantage when they finally invade. Only those who chose the Wheelbarrow will be spared!!!!
xlorp: It has already happened. The first time you ever played your choice was logged into the master computer.
Karlsen: Just lucky. The sad thing is that you would probably be well funded for running the experiment
ValJor: I don't like Monopoly at all.
sourwyrm: it's been done
CharlieWonka: I think so yes. Strangely you like different tokens at different times of your life. I used to like the boat when I was a kid. Now I go for the more realistic Shoe.
skrutsch: Yup.
thoia: Back when I played the game I definitely used the token as a physcological aspect. I'd always play the top hat and start the game off with the hat upside down like a beggar asking for money. Then when I was winning or about to build a buttload of houses/hotels I'd flip my hat over letting everyone know they were about to lose.
The Unbeliever: 42
djlg: Genetic and social diversity. Almost certainly.
heli: because your sample size is way too small
BaSL: 'Like' and 'monopoly' in one sentence?
CortexBomb: I don't know, and maybe...
scriptorum: I generally go for the shoe, top hat, or race car, although I'm partial to the thimble. Psychologically, of course, this means I like bad board games.
jttm: Uhhh... you mean only 6 people replied you?
Lord_Prussian: It's been done
skelebone: Maybe people just like different things and you shouldn't read into it.
snoozefest: nurture (vs. nature); maybe, but what would be the point?
chaddyboy_2000: I guess so.
CDRodeffer: I think it is!
Spielfreak: No, it simply proves that no token owns a monopoly on player preferences.
