tsierra: Documentary about board games
ssmooth: $100K doesn't sound like much money for a documentary. Ideally I'd be looking for a local subject with national repercussions. I'll want the story told primarily in conversation, argumentative conversation even. Maybe a comparison of the kinds of discussions on a particular issue in two contrasting settings, like at a bar and at a church. Just an idea. Look for a novel approach instead of an unknown issue.

toulouse: Eurogaming
The Unbeliever: 42
funkhauser: A documentary about how I spent $100,000.
lwheeler: How the Republicans Stole the 2004 Presidential Election
Ardos: I'd make a documentary about the current college admissions craze, especially how the media is detrimentally fueling this phenomena by focusing on the 200 most selective schools in the nation. NACAC's 2004 report included statistics that the national average is that 7 out of 10 applicants are accepted, which is good news. Parents place ridiculous amounts of pressure on their children to get into a "good" school (that is a selective one), while neglecting that their child may do better at one of the 3,000 colleges & universities not listed in US News & World Report. Some are so freaked out about admissions that they apply to 20+ schools which is over $1K in application fees alone. It's utterly ridiculous and unnecessary.
djlg: A documentary.
Randy Cox: A 10 part series on the history of games, sort of in the vein of Connections, where each week we move towards more modern games and the last five or six episodes are all more recent games.
