¿Question #3154?
puffinge: Werewolf is one of my all-time favorite games, but can it really be fun if it's not played face to face?
purplewurple: Um, what? How can it be fun without analyzing other people's posts for 'random' capitalization, and pictures of 'splosions, and dead chat?
The Monstrous Jake: I'm sorry, I kind of zoned out for a minute there. What were you saying?
vandemonium: Yep. While I enjoyed the WW forum, I decided that I suck at it, so I stopped playing. I'd play again if you played...
Woelf: That would seem to defeat the purpose, but it apparently works well enough to have its own section of the forums.
DKahnt: okay
Leo-T: Not nearly as fun. Again, Bill would know that - you are obviously the evil alien doppleganger.
Lord Ramius: no,
MisterCranky: Since most of the players play half of it with their eyes closed anyway, why not?
diemacher: Why bother?
jtrleone: Better known as Mafia. No, it's a face to face game.
DHEK: Probably not as fun, but I'm sure it still retains some fun, judging by the number of people at BGG who have been doing it online and the length of time they have been doing so...
aleo09: never played
WereGhost: Hell yeah!! Have you seen the Werewolf threads in the WW PBEM forums?!
Grungydan: Wait...there's a way to make Werewolf fun?
GrimJester: Very much so. Try it: Forums > PBEM > Werewolf
tdyck: never heard of it
PsyJam: I really couldn't tell you.
Magnus the Blue: Online is pretty cool...
Kimo_LeFey: not as much. but it will wok online
duLac956: No. It can't.
chrismata: not really
dragonewtking: no, you can't bite your victim that way
sdonohue: Yes.
StormKnight: Never having played it face to face or any other way, I have no idea.
vampywife: I don't think it would be much fun if not face to face, but it is always hard to get enough people to make it really fun in person.
joebelanger: i'll see in a couple of days. i'll get back to you.
scriptorum: Um, hmm. Yes?
Helenoftroy: yes, I enjoyed the ladies online game.
xlorp: I double-dog dare you to join in our reindeer games. Or are you just a trash-talking mangy cur?
mrspank: I have the game and I've never played it... yet. I guess people on the BGG have a good time playing it via the forums.
Loquutus: I've wondered that too. Online seems lame.
bigbadsteve: sure it can
BiscuitTheCat: mouth-to-throat
AbeLincoln: no, werewolf will never be fun, not face to face, not in all in one place. werewolf will never be fun.
GuyHill: no
GrandpaDave: Never played it
skrutsch: Haven't tried it either way.
dakarp: It doesn't seem that way to me, but I've never tried online.
erli: It's more fun when you can crack jokes while you play. Also, your speeches aren't as entertaining if they are typed like online or something
Great Dane: It can. It depends on the players
ngymish: I don't know, but I'd be interested to find out.
Lord_Prussian: I'd imagine it's possible
Lucimara: I think the only fun of it is playing with people.
djlg: Not really. Might as well play against a computer randomorama
Randy Cox: Bill, you misspelled "repetition" as "repartee." See, when you play 100 games and hear 100 responses along the lines of "I didn't do it, just look at him, he's obviously guilty" (equivalent answer: "Look, a monkey"), it's just repetitive. Not clever anymore. Just repetitive. Did I say that it's repetitive. You know, it's the same thing over and over again. Whine, whine, whine, acuse. Vote. Acuse again. See, Bill, it gets so repetitive that it repeats itself. Am I making myself at all clear here? I'd hate for you to think this is all clever repartee when it's just repetitive.
snoozefest: apparently so, although you wouldnt thing it
2amp: never played
puffinge: No, I played more Werewolf at the convention that shall not be named this year than I've ever played in one weeks time. But a huge part of the fun for me is the repartee amongst the group.
chaddyboy_2000: No, it can't even really be fun face to face if you ask me.
CDRodeffer: I think it would be most fun face to face, but have never tried it otherwise.
jttm: No idea. Haven't tried online
skelebone: I don't know because I've never played it.
Spielfreak: I'd say it loses quite a bit not being played ftf, but it still may be fun.
heli: I guess you'd really have to be desperate.
