djlg: If time's not an issue, then playing time is not an issue. But it should suit the variety of the game (5 minutes is too long for roll'n'move and 1 hour is too short for complex wargames).

Spielfreak: But by asking you are making time an issue. This quesion is impossible to answer, as each game has its own "ideal time". That is, 1 hour might be fine for Settlers, but is excessively long for Zirkus Flohcati and insufficient for Wallenstein.
