¿Question #3196?
meshuggener: You are halfway into a game of Settlers. One of the players has to leave and will not return. What do you do?
Bossko: Table Flip
Tushratta: Tie them to their chair.
rlesco: Ask if he will trade his cards in return for "good will".
samalvor: Remove his knee caps and make him stay.
Archetype: Keep playing leave the board as is.
Randy Cox: Count your blessings.
MartinWin: Freeze his position and continue without him.
Zamomin: Tricky question... If you don't want to break the game up, I guess the best solution would be to let all his/her roads, villages and cities on the board and continue play without him/her. The ressources of the quitting player should be dealt out randomly to the other players and his/her developement cards should got to the discard pile.
djc6535: Shoot them
Woelf: Berate the person mercilessly for not telling us ahead of time that he/she had to leave early. Once that's taken care of, try to finish the game as best as possible or put it away and switch to something that works better with three players.
amievilyesiam666: sandbag and kill their city
arkibet: start a new game with 3?
pwilz: Find a replacement player or stop. I hope this player didn't expect to leave at this time when the game began :(
Numskull: Say: "Why the hell were we playing this stupid game anyway?"
muzfish4: Curse that cad unto the seventh generation - and then start again or change games.
potza4: Call him a party pooper.
Stradk: shoot him
Blott: Switch to a fun game.
fenwic: If I had a nickel for everytime this happened... well, I'd have 15 cents. We leave their stuff on the board. Basically they keep "playing" but don't advance in the game at all.
ritterman: Bind him to his seat.
mr. assist: ride in the ambulance
StitzL: Share his cards among the others, remove his buildings and roads from the board.
atrium: Play something else
bigbadsteve: hide the evidence
mentis: Pack it up and play something more interesting.
SwedeLad: Begin the beatings.
fordescort79: Take their pieces off the board and put their cards back in the deck
DHEK: If there is no one around who is willing to replace the player, then ask the other players what they wanna do. Most likely we'll end the game though and start anew or play something else.
tsukata: Go do something else, because I didn't want to play it in the first place
Benzebub: If there are fewer than 3 players left, we call it right there. If not, we continue...
Leo-T: just leave his pieces on the board where they are and go on without him
TheDS: Finish the turn and then take his stuff off the board and resume the game; unless it was just the two of us, then I declare myself the winner, regardless of the score.
gf_ripper: umm never played it, but I assume keep playing as if they weren't there, start over if it hasn't been too long or just quit. All depends on the time of day.
Shannon Ferguson: kill him/her and hide the body
aleo09: divide up their resources, and leave their settlements/cities/roads on the board
RITBeast: Beat them with a fried tuna-fish until they agree to stay.
TimTheEnchanter: lock the door and force him to stay till we are done.
ZiggyZambo: punch them.
Sardukar: Kill him and hide the body
vampywife: start a new game
frieque: Get pissed off, maybe make a mental note not to play with them again (depending on circumstances), and start a new game.
Grimwold: Thank God and pack up so we can play something else!!!
Kubilai: If no one is around to take over the vacated seat: Count the points, declare the winner and start a different game (i.e. not again Settlers)
jasta6: never invite them back........................................................................................
Big Bad Lex: Start a new game and then bitch about the one who left.
interhawk: return their resource cards to supply, leave their pieces on the board, remove their unplayed dev cards from the game, played dev cards remain in play, continue game
Nekura: Leave his pieces on the board and continue playing without him.
xlorp: Collectivize his holdings!
janiera: Continue playing, just leave their pieces on the board, but turn in all their cards
POvidiusNaso: Tell him to have a nice night.
Chris Page: Thank that player for forcing an early end to the game.
Dhunam: Kill him
zapperio: Remove the his pieces and rejoice at the new strategic opening.
nexttothemoon: Probably stop the game and count whose ahead and end it there.
banjoseamonkey: Count points, give everyone else one more turn, then declare a victor
haraggan: Jump at the excuse to end the game early

Dr. No: leave his playing pices on the board and regard it as blocked areas
Debate: Scowl at them for starting a game they couldn't finish

sourwyrm: play a better game
Bergbau: He scores zero. The player with most points win. The others go play "Ra".
Lord_Prussian: Use it as an opportunity to start a decent game.
The Unbeliever: 42
Ardos: Wipe his villages and roads from the board. Discard all his cards and carry on with the game.
djlg: Leave their pieces on the board as is.
toulouse: Excommunicate him from future games
Gecko23: Quit.
darthcliff: huh huh huh . . . give wood to his sheep . . . huh huh huh
puffinge: Thank him for the excuse to put it away and play something else. Clarification: It's one of the greatest games ever, but I am soooooo sick of it.
skelebone: Leave his/her settlements as obstacles and play on.
chaddyboy_2000: Quit and play a new game.
CDRodeffer: Shuffle his resource cards and deal them out to everyone evenly, then auction everything off to the highest bidder. This should bring the game close to an end anyway.
skrutsch: I'm frustrated. This is going to mess up the balance of the game. From experience, I'd leave their stuff on the board and keep playing. If there were 3 players originally, I'd have us make a logical play for the player that left each turn.
BaSL: curse
Spielfreak: Announce that there will be one final round, making sure everyone has had the same number of turns, and determine a winner at that point. Then start a new game.
familygaming: Bang my head on the table once, then pack up the game and find something else to play.
