Naturally, there is (somewhere) a reason for everything that happens, whether in the laws of physics (as with dice rolls), or psychology (as with friendship). However, in most circumstances, these reasons will never be fully comprehended by those involved.... thus 'luck', as a catch-all for things that happened for which the reason is not readily apparent.
