¿Question #3273?
meshuggener: Describe one thing about one of the games you play that you just recently realized.
bobondi: My strategy almost never works
Myok: I learned that Kings & Things was much more fun in hindsight.
Felimid: Not all Catan games have easy-to-understand rules. "Settlers of Catan" was easy to understand, and so was "Catan Geographies: Germany". But "Catan Histories: Struggle for Rome" needed *serious* rewriting of the rules (at least, *I* think so).
arkibet: that Luck ruined my brass game
Globulon: in civ 4, i just realized that you can found and spread a religion without converting to it
pwilz: I can't really think of anything.
dok33: Arkham Horror is less exciting then Pandemic.
MisterCranky: Die Macher--it's an inordinately simple game, and holding competence constant across the players, it is almost entirely dependent on your initial card draw. I didn't say my realization was valid, mind you....
powwowdancer: Mah Jongg scoring isn't impossible to learn
georgeandpeggy: You start Coloretto with a card face up in front of you [don't play it that way though]

Nazhuret: nexus ops: white can be combined with red
Benzebub: In Railroad Tycoon, you can overspend and never get enough income to cover your expenditures.
xlorp: The Fellowship can't lose
aleo09: winning is fun
scriptorum: The swiss map in the PC version of Ticket to Ride is actually pretty cool.
WalkerRedEye: risk: you dont have to forfeit attacking ifn you loose both roles in a combat ( we used to play that for yaers, can you imagine how that makes teh game drag???)
bigbadsteve: it plays much faster when following the rules
puffinge: In Samarai, the game ends immediately when a 4th tie-for-a-piece occurs.
brainrob: Louis XIV is too random to be a great game
Langoroth: In the Lord of the Rings at the begining of your turn you are supposed to keep turning over a tile until you get a movement token.
JonBen: Nobody seems to like Dungeonville.
Dorque: Descent just cannot be played competitively and still be fun. DM has to hold back.
jasta6: I stink at gaming.............................
FrozenHoHos: Shadows Over Camelot: I've been the traitor 3 times out of 15 games or so. I've been suspected in over 10 of those games. I guess I'm not very trustworthy...
Hoju: been playing the power down rule for roborally wrong
ct_cruiser: wow, Shadows over Camelot isn't as good as everybody thought it would be
Deeghter: The only game I still learn new things is Dragon Dice 'cause the whole rules have changed (mostly to the better) lately! And that's too many things to list here!
Helenoftroy: In Killer bunnies, to attack someone's bunny you must have a bunny in the bunny circle.
MeYesMe: That the number of tactics cards you play during Battle Line can never exceed the number your opponent has played by more than one. I'm telling you, that rule sucks. We played it wrong for the first 50 plays and the game rocked...we played it correctly for only two games before reverting to the wrong but infinitely better way.
dietevil: In the Veronaville neighborhood of the Sims 2, the kids all seem to have pointy ears even if their parents are normal. What gives?

BiscuitTheCat: it's fun
POvidiusNaso: Those stat markers in Betrayal at House on the Hill were easier to put on the character cards than I thought.
ststrat: ShadowFist - If you record the card titles as they're played and read them back after the game, it's like a Mad Lib.
Thedalek: During Razzia!: This makes about a thousand times more sense than Ra.
Mike A: I actually looked up the buildings in Saint Petersburg and started researching the city's history. Now I realize I want to visit there.
jellospike: When you play Puerto Rico, after taking plantations, you put the unused ones in a little special pile instead of just refreshing the tiles
GuyHill: theres a cooperative element to Medina
djlg: Ummm. Nothing recently except all new rules for all new games!
Bergbau: That the starting player in Louis XIV gets an extra Intrige Card in the last round when you play with three.
Lord_Prussian: That the King changes hands in Citadels even if assassinated and that you can't build two of the same building.
tempus42: Oh Pharoah is really broken unless pyramids can't be automatically scored at the end of the game, and even then, it's kind of semi-broken.
snoozefest: vinci - session report coming - can be a boring 3er game if someone gets diplomacy

chaddyboy_2000: Uhhh, I guess I haven't recently realized anything.
skelebone: It seems like I learn a rule that I got wrong every time I play a game... I think there are only a handful of games that I have played as the designer intended. It was recently pointed out that you have to use both totals on your opening throw of Can't Stop, and that you must place a marker when you can.
Spielfreak: That each player only plays 9 boards in Ubongo, even if there are fewer than 4 players.
heli: There are tiny plant icons on the plant-related cards in Kupferkessel Co.
jttm: Big City needs more varied buildings
CortexBomb: Um, that you can't split your placement action and the special action in Grande, you must do one, then the other
