¿Question #3405?
puffinge: Does anyone else find that to do well at Maharajah you have to think in a way that is more like work than fun?

ocdspectrum: Mmm, sounds like a fun Euro game.
Felimid: I haven't played it yet, so you'll have to wait until I have (which may be awhile; current gaming opponent doesn't like most non-abstract games).
jegan22280: I use that variant to teach people the value of forks in a common game. It is not meant to be won.
Hendal: no, it is such a simple game though for the educated
cgund: Never have played Maharajah.
chockle: Yes, but Maharajah is more of a puzzle to solve than a wacky social experience.
TheArchAngel: ?
foxxdye: Yes, but only if you work as Man-Machine (not really sure what they do, though)
Rockhead: I feel that way about other games, I can tell you that.
DHEK: I've not played Maharajah, but if it's as you say, it doesn't sound very fun a game to me.
aleo09: haven't played
Annoy Mous: Yes
Musti: Perhaps. I do like the game.
scriptorum: Isn't that true for most games?
Cut & Space: Haven't played
heavymetalhamster: Never played
everlong205: Haven't played (do own)
janiera: No
nerotora: Couldn't agree more.
Dorque: Nope.
POvidiusNaso: I disagree, but someone's gonna agree with you.
keldrak: never played
Zambo: No.
Scott Tepper: Not at all. I love the challenge of Maharajah.
brainrob: Never played (sadly)
MisterCranky: No, I enjoy the game, although it seems like a lot of chrome pasted onto what is a relatively simple set of goals.
GrandpaDave: Never playedit
GI Joe: I hope not-- I have this game on order.
ssmooth: Not me
puffinge: It didn't seem like fun to me.
Culvan: Never played it, plus your question made my head explode.
ValJor: Who cares about doing well? I play whatever just to see what happens
Ludocrazy: Yes. I didn't enjoy the game too much
erli: Can you guess who my favorite person is in BGG?
davedanger: no
sourwyrm: haven't played it
Lord_Prussian: I haven't tried the game, but that sounds like a bad review
2amp: never played
BaSL: well, someone else might, but it isn't me
djlg: I don't.
skelebone: I've not yet played Maharajah; I'll weigh in better once I have.
jttm: Not played it.
chaddyboy_2000: No.
Spielfreak: no
CDRodeffer: I haven't played Maharajah yet, but really would like to.
sumo: That sums it up very well.
Randy Cox: Haven't tried it, but it has a bad track record from the beginning, as it's directly tied to El Grande. So, it may well end up feeling like work.
heli: It is pretty anspruchsvoll, but I think that's what they were going for.
CortexBomb: No, I think to do well in Maharaja you have to be able to read minds, and unless your group is easy to completely read in that regard there is no way to accurately predict everything, which often leads to disaster
