skelebone: When you buy a game, are you thinking about playing it with a specific person or group, or are you buying it to have to potentially play against someone someday?

Woelf: Ideally it can be played with my family and/or solo. Anything beyond that would be a bonus, but not a selling point.

Harkonnen13: A mix of both. Sometimes there's games I have to have no matter what, regardless of whether any one else will play them with me.
muzfish4: I want to use the games I buy. So, yes, I do buy games with specific groups in mind. Luckily I play with a diverse range of people so what one group would hate could well agree with another & vice versa.

Of course, there are some games (most recently India Rails) that I get knowing they will likely not be played in a group but that I just want to study for my own knowledge and/or fun. (I do play multiplayer board games solo - yes, I'm weird...)

CortexBomb: I try to buy for specific groups, there are occasional ones that sneak in that are more "I'll get to it when I get to it', but one aspect of having a smaller collection (by choice) is being realistic about what is going to get play
