ellephai: I wish I knew. This is a fabulous site, and tapping into the collective wisdom is incredible, but would it be so wrong to have even a rudimentary, halfway decent help page? Sure, you can ask a question and most likely someone will answer it, but is answering the same basic newbie questions over and over and over the best possible use of veterans' bgg time? As helpful as it is to have the personal touch, I'd find it MORE helpful to have some basic help documentation to at least start with. I mean, I DO know how to read. And I'm not likely to sit here and send in a barrage of questions covering every little thing--but if there was help, I could learn. I don't have a burning NEED to know what the whole geekbuddy thing is exactly about, how one acquires or becomes a geekbuddy, and why it's a good thing, so I probably won't pick up on this until some later time. Aaarggh--OK, rant over.

Beowulf: Usually by the number of reivews they've written, and the games they've rated. When I do a "Geekbuddy Analysis," I want there to be some valid data. Whether or not their opinions coincide with mine is okay.

skelebone: I selected several people that seemed to have the same opinions about games that I do, some people that have comments and ratings on a lot of games, and some game designers.
CortexBomb: Varies, some are there because I do game / have gamed with them in the real world. Others because our game taste is very similar. Others just because I like their writing.
