¿Question #3819?
erli: What gases are farts made of?
ocdspectrum: Sulfur. And nitrogen. And Fartrogen.
BOBBYCAN: Stinky ones.
ct5150: me-than, bu-tan, pro-pan, marzipan, and that rotting vegetable smell.
Michael Dorosh: You know it's three in the morning when you've completely run out of things to ask.
kurthl33t: Nitrogen and carbon dioxide, mostly, with the occasional bit of methane and hydrogen
Fortune: Nitrogen, the main constituent of air, is the primary gas released during flatulence, along with carbon dioxide, which is present in higher quantities in those who drink carbonated beverages regularly. The lesser component gases methane and hydrogen are flammable, and so flatus containing adequate amounts of these can be ignited.
Spirit of 70: Mostly sulpher, with some nitrogen and a bit of oxygen.
Woelf: Nothing, anymore. Johnny is gone.
jasta6: Stupid Gas............................................................................................................
ArtEmiSa64: uffff, don't wanna think about it
Kibbersdog: Stinky ones
georgeandpeggy: air
mr. assist: methane
ValerieF: body gases, but probably depends on what you've eaten
DKahnt: flamable... don't ask
MisterCranky: The same ones that swirl endlessly around your home planet.
kingmaker fan: Primarily methane, I think.
DHEK: Methane, carbon dioxide and other gases.
Benzebub: Methane, methinks.
Sandy Petersen: Methane, mostly.
wrkeech: methane
sdonohue: mostly nitrogen
aleo09: not sure
POvidiusNaso: Methane? I don't really know.
paulgo: smelly ones
Leo-T: CH4, CO2, CO, N2, O2, plus trace organic compounds
ZombyDawg: Fart gases! Duh!
cowdog: Methane and other stuff
Ripkil: Fun ones, obviously.
brainrob: Methane?
Arnebarnet: metan
John3: personal blends, can't be duplicated, only appreciated
PsyJam: Methane.
WatchmanX2000: Just how much detail did you want after methane?

bigbadsteve: methane
_Kael_: Bend your head and smell out for yourself
scriptorum: Erli2O
Loquutus: I don't know, but they come from Uranus.

Legend Dan: Sweet smelling fumes. Trust me - give it a try.
Lord_Prussian: Smelly ones
djlg: methane and other stuff.
jttm: Methane?
matthew.marquand: methane
sourwyrm: methan
CDRodeffer: The stinky part is probably hydrogen sulfide. The rest is a mixture of light hydrocarbons (methane, ethane, and a little propane), with carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide. I suppose there is also quite a bit of nitrogen, but that mainly goes un-noticed.
puffinge: Have I mentioned that I'm a gas giant?
skelebone: Methane as a byproduct of the bacteria in your small and large intestines breaking down food. Some foods have problematic chains that cannot be broken down by the intestinal bacteria, so the gases are a byproduct. You can consume enzymes that will break some of these products down, and they are commercially available in Beano.
Spielfreak: stinky ones, usually.
chaddyboy_2000: I don't know.
