¿Question #382?
nix342: Do you care what the definition of a "wargame" is?
Woelf: Small World
oldhoss: Nope. Let the wargamers argue over that one.
pricero1: "Not for me" sounds like a good enough definition.
vandemonium: Yes, deeply and profoundly. It keeps me awake at night. Endlessly.
Hendal: not at all
chuckhazard: Barely.
bcooperok: I do. Because I hate them and don't want to play them, so getting the definition right is important so I don't play something I hate.
Felimid: Absolutely. The higher the definition, the clearer the picture of a wargame will be. After all, one wouldn't want it to become all pixelearlied. :)
jessitron: no. there's war, there's a game.
Wightwolf: Yes

jasta6: Nope..........................................................
PsyJam: Not really.. I know what is meant.

Helenoftroy: not really but I don't want to piss off fellow grognards
keldrak: no
Winter Wolf: No not really, but I think that others should not be so demanding of what a "wargame" should be. They seem to forget that it is infact just a game, not real military battles/procedures. That specific separation from realism is a good thing. My personal preferance is that stratagy games should have a little bit of chance to make them interesting and even more fun, but that it should never dominate the gameplay.

alfredhw: No. Well, maybe. It's interesting to think about, if it's possible to define the term in such a way that it's neither all-inclusive or totally exclusive. That said, I have plenty of both Euros, abstracts, and wargames--however we care to define those terms--so it hasn't troubled me much.
