¿Question #3823?
skelebone: Based on your current thinking, what is the absolute most you would pay for a single game, and what game is it?

pwilz: I'd spend $500 on a single game if the conditions were right. One example of right conditions might be, "It's a game I'll play, and it'll mean publicly out-bidding Wil Wheaton in an auction where all the money goes to some worthy charity."
Woelf: Anything over $50-60 would make me really think twice before buying. Excluding Christmas and birthdays, large game purchases have been pretty much nonexistent the past few years though.
Chance Gardener: $60 starts to be my cringe limit for a single purchase but I'd go up to $80 if I really REALLY liked the game and knew I had others around who'd play it with me.
Randy Cox: $150. It is currently undefined.
Tirpen: For a regular boardgame 600 SEK (About $100) if it has amazing production value. For a miniature wargame
Spirit of 70: $200 for War of the Ring Collector's edition. You can guess what my odds of getting a copy are.
ricardofo: 30 US$ - War in Europe
Zamomin: Since I'm a student, I would say 40 €, but it has to be a very good board game. I just saw that Tales of the Arabian Nights cost that much and I really would like to have this game.
xofour: $50 several, but there are a couple I owuld buy without question if I found them for $50
bluetip84: 100$
matthewjhoskins: $4-$5k for M:tg power cards. Best life-time gaming choice you can make. Decades of fun for one price.
Gibbo: hmmm...depends on what the wife will let me spend...
CaptainDamon: I dunno. I don't usually plan out purchases that in depth. If the price is fair, and its something I want, I'd buy it.
XanderF: $250. Hypothetical - the price is reasonable for "the perfect game", but no such game exists to my knowledge.
Diamat: However much Twilight Struggle is at the moment, as I think it is overpriced but am in serious danger of caving. Oh, and ALL CMGs.
Deadly_Butler: $100; Dune
YncYnYr8: I don't currently think.
hancock.tom: hmmm... depends totally on the components. I bought crokinole if that tells you anything
Golux: I'm willing to pay up to $600.00 for my shell and slate go set after I reach 1 Dan. Beats the $400 I spent on another game I shall not mention.
TheArchAngel: would have to think about that
DHEK: Around $60. Whatever game that is really big and worth it to me. No specific title right now.
elirlandes: £60 or so, I would imagine. No specific game in mind, but that seems to me to be a reasonable upper limit. Might, of course be tempted to pay more.
Phelonius: 150 for Roads & Boats (still trying)
Azzarc: $40
vampywife: hmm...it's difficult to say, really, as it depends on the game and how much i foresee playing it.
2amp: my dream is the ww2 block game from columbia games & expansions. I think that be $100+.
bigbadsteve: since there arent any rare games i am currently looking for, maybe $40 or $50 for whichever new game catches my eye next
PsyJam: I recently paid $90can to get a copy of Antike shipped here. I don't intend on spending more money than that.
_Kael_: € 100 or so. A good one - still looking
GrimJester: $2, Twilight Imperium 3rd
falloutfan: $75 for Merchant of Venus. Despite the fact that I can print it out for free.
Reloaded: $100 for Code of Bushido...
scriptorum: $150, Antiquity. That's the going price unless you buy it direct.
Avatar_69: $100 is my normal pain threshold. I've paid up to $187 for a game with expansion though (Starfarers)
jasta6: $50.00 Up Front 2nd edition [when it is ever released].....................................................................................
marshalljansen: Hmm. You're talking to a person who plays Magic AND Warhammer. So, clearly, the answer is 'thousands of dollars'.
Cavedog_pdx: I've decided to get myself the Carabande Action Set next year for my birthday so that should be about $125?
jcbpereira: At this time I wouldn't pay more than 30 € for any game
kinetic: $100 - there are several I would be willing to pay
brainrob: £50
bkindt: $80; Descent: Journeys in the Dark
skrutsch: $120 or however much Devil's Cauldron costs.
BaSL: € 60
puffinge: $700 (more like $100 really, but I don't know what it is)
Bandit Ripshawd: Hmm... $50, not including expansion.
ssmooth: Unless I was getting it for resale value, I can't think offhand of any game I'd spend more than $40 or $50 on.
GrandpaDave: $50
POvidiusNaso: $50. Shadows Over Camelot.
ValJor: I wouldn't pay more than Can$ 70 for any one game
Lord_Prussian: About 50 bucks or so. Lots of games would qualify at that price.
djlg: $130 Australian. I paid that for EE. I'd pay it for Reef Encounter.
jttm: Mebbe two hundred... a game with fully painted minis...
sourwyrm: $100 or so
CDRodeffer: With the exceptions of Go and Crokinole (where I might go lots higher), I think the most I'd pay for a standard boxed board game is about $55, and then it would have to be exceptionally good. The most I'd pay for a boxed card game is about $30, again, for a very exceptional game. For a CCG / TCG, I've sometimes paid more, but that just got away from me.
chaddyboy_2000: I'd probably pay about $40 for Rett Sich War Kann.
Spielfreak: between $40 - $60. Keytown and Black Vienna .
dakarp: I'm ready to pay $100 for a copy of Antiquity, if I can track one down.
skelebone: I think $150 to $200 is the most I would spend on anything, and I would have to get something really good or really rare. I cannot see myself paying upwards of $500 for Jati, or exorbitant amounts of money for Hannibal: Rome vs. Carthage or Full Metal Planete.
CortexBomb: Um...probably 150 for Big Boss
