¿Question #3871?
erli: Do you believe we can change our genes?

Woelf: Science!
BOBBYCAN: Yes. Happens all the time.
aleo09: nah
Caerid: Yes, thats what carcinogens (sp?) do.
syphon: Consciously? No. But mutations do happen relatively frequently.
LanaDove: No.
MisterCranky: Watch this space! Some day I may answer more appropriately.
Felimid: Absolutely. Levi's or Lee's are my favs. You mean *you* don't buy more than one pair of genes at a time from Sears or Kmart?
ricardofo: No. I believe that we can not change our genes. We can change the genes of the next generation.
gmcash: we may be able, but we shouldnt
smilingra: Only if they're stonewashed first; wouldn't want them to be dirty.
Vampyur: "Let me tell you something, Mean Gene!"
tempus42: Only with significant amounts of radiation. But then they probably won't be passed on anyway, Lamarck or no Lamarck.
bigbadsteve: i change my jeans daily
jonjac: Yes
Neil Thomson: Only when they begin to smell so much my girlfriend won't kiss me anymore
TheKeck: Um, sure.
matthan: no, not yet.
DHEK: With the right technology, perhaps in the future we can.
pethulhu: no
clandaith: Yes.
ACK ACK: I'm not sure what you mean, but no.
ben21: we will eventually, not now though
Geosmores: no
_Kael_: ...and get rid of the GQ-gene?
Leo-T: not "ours" - but offspring & future generations, sure
Greedo: I changed from Lee to Levis about 15 years ago. Never looked back.
thesama: I put my genes on one nucleopeptide at a time.
presence: Only with too much heat.
KentuckyKid: No
dmomo: Probably. But, then are they ours?
Son of Murray: Isn't that what genetic engineering and gene thereapy does?
Aljovin: No
MaksimSmelchak: I don't know, but why would we want to? Human kind isn't perfect, but we're doing fine. Noone's pressed the button yet... and the natural evolution of genes is working out just fine. If we could change genes to help people who were biorn with deformities, I would tentatively say yes wanting to know more about the repercussions of such an action.
SisyphusX: *WE*, meaning "you and I", no. Genetic engineers, sure.
jasta6: or is that your Jeans.........
xlorp: It's as easy as a one-way airfare to Chernobyl
Dorque: Hope so. Have paint on them.
Hoju: sure, I saw the fly
AmunPtah: No.
POvidiusNaso: Absolutely. Things like X-rays and Gamma rays change them.
oceanika: Well, if they are creating genetic vaccines, I guess I do.
Hossen: no
scriptorum: Absolutely! Stand out in the sun for too long.
brainrob: Nope
Karlsen: My own personal ones no. Genetic engineering for the future generations will probably become reality
Wiebel: Sadly, Yes
BakeliteTM: I can change my jeans.
Great Dane: not at present!
vetinari7878: Can, yes. Should, I'm not that sure...
acetate3: Genes, genes, the magical fruit...
skrebs: Can? Don't we already do that through genetic therapy?
dave45: Yes
Dr. No: sure, but would it be good?
puffinge: 501
ssmooth: No, but we can change our jeans.
skrutsch: genes, our own, well, maybe with science but not without help
obob: I change my jeans every day
ValJor: Not yet. We will, but not yet.
Lord_Prussian: Yes
sourwyrm: not sure
djlg: No. Radiation does it for us.
skelebone: If you're asking if it's possible, I think many things are possible. But, I still fail to see the relevance of your sophomoric line of questioning.
CDRodeffer: Yes, but doing so may be dangerous.
jttm: I wear a new pair everyday
dakarp: Not yet.
Spielfreak: Every morning, although they are all Levi's
chaddyboy_2000: No.
CortexBomb: What an odd question
