¿Question #3874?
erli: Why do ACs drip?
Randy Cox: ACs? Is this a sex reference?
Felimid: The more humid it is outside (or inside), the more it drips. Like us humans, it seems that ACs perspire in order to keep cool.
Crazy_Dave: It's all to do with quantum physics
vandemonium: Because they DC?
Phil Fleischmann: Because Pavlov keeps ringing a bell.
sdonohue: Condensation
franklincobb: Because they swing both ways, baby.
RKFade: They fill their drinks to the brim and then slosh on the way to the pool.
Harkonnen13: To get rid of condensation.
falloutfan: Condensation.
WatchmanX2000: condensation
cgund: Condensation.
gmcash: its called condensation
sbauer: PASS
xofour: heheehehehehehee sorry, saved by the bell. had to be bacause of that movie he allegedly did.
aleo09: condensation
DHEK: Because some of the air they draw in is cooled enough to condense.
Butterbane: condensation
Chad Jensen: Gravity.
Eric Haas: Sinus trouble.
Chris Page: So that they can break down from rust damage the day after the warranty expires.
Beyak: Condensation I think
2amp: condensation
POvidiusNaso: The same reason Dehumidifiers do.
Leo-T: condensation
Numskull: Oh, man. Have you ever heard of the band A.C.? Do you know what it stands for?
Trenton: Condensation.
mcross: Condensation
Poetprince: Why do birds sing?
cad614: Because they're working too hard.
dmomo: Science, my friend. Science.
zappothedude: condensation
jasta6: because they are hot......................................
Cromaa: Because they can't spit
dictator555: They dehumidify rooms by condensing water out of the air. The water has to go somewhere, so it drips out the back.
vampywife: they have to let the water out some way
Big Bad Lex: ?
Deeghter: Condense water! They're cooler than the ambient air temperature. Since warmer air can carry a higher amount of water than cooler air, the ambient warmer air tends to get rid of the water as soon as something cooler comes its way! So the water condenses on the cooler surface, runs down on the outside and (now it gets REALLY physical:) follows the physical law of gravity (I'm a show off, I know :-)) and drips down towards earth. In other words, if there was no gravity ACs wouldn't drip! They'd just get moist! And if you're not annoyed by this very long answer to a first-grader-question, then you can sigh with relieve, 'cause I stop writing now, before this answer gets sort of too long. THE END!
richardolen2: Because the icicles inside are melting.
e.c.r.: condensation
Tennantgamer: condensation on the cooling plates--as the air is cooled the humidity condenses on the colder metal
nerotora: Can't understand the question.
djlg: Colder air can hold less gaseous water so it condenses out.
scriptorum: AC Adapters? I haven't noticed them dripping. Maybe I should put a towel underneath the surge protector? Oh, air conditioners. I imagine it has something to do with pulling in air, removing the warm moisture, and ejecting the drier air. The removed moisture has to condense somewhere. I really don't know what I'm talking about, but look at me go!
ststrat: it's the dank
ssmooth: Humidity in the air is condensed by contact with cold.
snoozefest: condensation
Belash: they get hot and sweat
MisterCranky: A little thing called "condensation".
puffinge: I was never good at science.
Lord_Prussian: Condensation
skelebone: Condensation. Are you in high-school science right now?
CDRodeffer: The relative humidity of the air increases to 100% as it cools, at which point the water condenses onto the cool surface of the coils.
jttm: Condensation
Spielfreak: Because they haven't learned how to drab?
dakarp: Because they were designed flooring manufacturers.
chaddyboy_2000: Condensation.
