¿Question #4088?
mrbeankc: What is the perfect number of players for a nice game night with friends?
TheGrimReeple: 1 is great. 2 is fantastic, but only with the right partner. 4 to 6 is great, depending on what games you've got planned.
ocdspectrum: 4.
kuhrusty: 3, because I haven't played Triumph & Tragedy yet.
zemus: 4.
Withnails liver: Depends which game you feel like playing
Cuckooclock: 4
Woelf: 4 generally, but an option for 5 every so often would be nice too.
pwilz: Four
MoriQuessir: I think four is optimal - Arkham Horror, Ghost Stories, Dominion..
Silverleaf: 1
jhearne: 6
Paladin_fin: 5
topherbear: 5
Sorp222: four
Polgara: 4
mtlawson: Four.
Rina: 5

martin31415926: 4
kevinwho: Four. Cannot play Tichu with any other number. Three is also great, minimizes downtime, and there are lots of games you can play with three. Five runs a distant third.
petegrey: 3-5
ZeroZilla: Four, or 8-9. Four's easiest.
Ironmaus: 6
jeffwolfe: 100. No, really. We get that many sometimes at CABS, and it gives you lots of opportunity to play lots of different games with lots of different people.
moyet: 42
greenpawn: 4
DHEK: Five is nice, because it's plenty enough and yet not too many that you can't play a lot of games.
aleo09: 4-5
Eric Haas: The square root of negative 1.
penube: 4-6
Beyak: 5 to 7
Tina and Steve: 8

Blacknightjj: 6
dkwd: 6
ZiggyZambo: 5
MaksimSmelchak: I think somewhere between three and eight is perfect. It really dpends on the game you want to play. In general, the more the merrier!
bigbadsteve: usually one is all i can find. more could be fun
dmomo: 4
ashleesaunt: 4
Novembernight: 5
chriscarl25: Four (4)
vampywife: it depends on the games you plan on playing. i'd say 4-6 is a good average
Dorque: 4
FrozenHoHos: For my groups: 7. Bang and Shadows Over Camelot are current favorites. Fearsome Floors and Category 5 work as well. Sleuth is a bit tough.
BradH: I'd say four on average, but it ultimately depends on what you're playing. I've had some fantastic gaming experiences with just two people.
TheDS: depends on the game, but probably 6 is a good number
ralpheous: I used to say 6, but with the huge number of games out there for a max of 5 players, the answer now is 5. I wish Euro designers would realise that lots of people like to play in groups.

patton1138: 4
GrandpaDave: 4 or 5
JamesT: A multiple of 4 or 5
Randy Cox: If they're all enthusiastic-ish and there are no outside interruptions, then 5--and you just keep starting new games without people even getting up from the table (for the most part).
puffinge: 12
tram10014: Four or five. Probably four, because then you can divide into teams.
Tushratta: 4
daw65: Four is nice, but I also enjoy a larger group (and it needs to be >7 to ensure two tables in action)
