xofour: Mastering is such an arrogant word. And if it were mastered, it would not be a challenge at all. That being said, I think it's good to have a steady game to enjoy, but also to see what else is out there. Because you never know when you might find something you enjoy. So yeah totally have 1 or 2 always plays. But keep an open mind to try new things. Which I know is wishy-washy, but I really don't like the term "mastering".

hooded_paladin: Do both. Have a handful of games you've played 20+ times (just avoid Settlers being one of them - though I failed on that account) and a good sized collection of games played 5 or so times. That's the way you audition your core games.
