¿Question #4343?
puffinge: abstinence/monogamy or condoms/sex education
Woelf: There's room for both, but the former is meaningless without some understanding of the latter.
pwilz: I think that the elderly in nursing homes should be given abstinence education and adolescents should be given sex education.
Narlgoth: Condoms and sex ed, everyone deserves the opportunity to enjoy sex from as early as legally possible, might as well make sure you teach 'em because many will do it whether you want 'em to or not.
oldhoss: National Geographic and Animal Husbandry magazines.
NateStraight: Parents.
Tirpen: Abstinence has been thoroughly proven to don't work _at all_. Areas that have tried it have inevitably seen an increase in teenage pregnancies and STDs. Also, not teaching the children something as important as sex is completely irresponsible and even bordering on evil. Sex is a good, no wait, great thing and we need to tell that to our children.
DasViktor: Condoms and sex education. All existing species were "wired" to procreate, those that weren't were eaten and forgotten.
Felimid: The latter (though monogamy in a sexual relationship can be rather helpful in the long run).
Spirit of 70: Who says any of it is mutually exclusive? Any of the above depending on the individuals involved.
kathleenryan: Condoms/sex education is a more realistic approach for many unmarried people.
Chris Page: Just say no to "Just say no." Denying reality is foolish.
Hendal: there going to do it, so Condoms/SE
indigopotter: condoms/sex education
ricardofo: Monogamy. Sex with condoms is equal to eat a candy with the paper.
Frubgarde: As I make every effort to live in the real world, then the latter.
BobbyChicken: i like monogamy best of those above
georgeandpeggy: Just say no
Head_Rat: I prefer pine... never liked hard woods.
Harkonnen13: condoms/sex ed
chrisnd: abstinence - condoms break
vlmarshall: monogamy.
seppi: yes!
wifwendell: reality -- condoms & sex ed
SolarFlare: Abstinence from self-inflicting pain. Monogamy with my beloved genre of fiction (ie: only sci fi will do). Psychological condoms to insulate & protect me from cruel people, and sex eduction so that I know what to do if ever I get the chance.
cgund: not with a ten-foot pole.
1000rpm: condoms & Sex education. Ever hear of AIDS?
cleonhard: The latter, please.
ZeroZilla: I don't think the question you're asking is the one you want to ask. For one thing, there need to be more words in it.
ufemism: Are we talking about ME or my child?
Anubis: the involuntary vow of celebacy
enfanta: A fish.
Benzebub: Abstinence / Monogamy
DHEK: Condoms/sex education
ZiggyZambo: monogamy
compman: abstinence/monogamy
POvidiusNaso: condoms/sex education. The first one only makes it more likely for people not to use condoms.
Leo-T: condoms/ sex ed - nobody will abstain or be monogamous
unixrevolution: All 4 have their place. Abstinence in the absense of Monogamy, and Condoms/Sex ed for all.
Zacratorax: condoms and sex ed
bigbadsteve: scriptorum once again sums it up nicely
scriptorum: In the absence of understanding why monogamy is the opposite of condoms or sex ed, I'll choose mass sterilization/find-new-planet-before-we-deplete-this-one.
tbraut: condoms/sex education
ZombyDawg: Do you mean in theory or in practice?
Roja: Obvious....
vetinari7878: The latter.
Cavedog_pdx: Puritannical values are good for a lot of people, but some of us do not have the luxury of easily fitting into such a society. Therefore, condoms and sex ed are necessary to deal with real world problems.
Deeghter: Monogamy! At my age you can hardly cope with just ONE hungry wife! ;-)
Nem Menuu: Abstinence is the best choice all around.
Debate: free sex and no hangups
jasta6: abstinence/monogamy....................................
SteveK2: condoms / sex ed
kolibri: condoms/sex education, any day
brainrob: The former
Tennantgamer: abstinence/monogamy
Cyberjunk: Depends how ugly you are. I would recommend beer.
Loquutus: condoms/sex ed
skrebs: pull out/prayer
xlorp: Do you want an overly large, neurotically burdened population or not?
ssmooth: Hello, false dichotomy!
Jim_P: c/se
djlg: Whatever works for you. We're all individuals (I'm not!).
WyldKarde: Condoms/Sex Ed. And monogamy, personally.
GrandpaDave: sex ed
puffinge: the first choice is asking too much and as such is a pipedream. The second choice is what we owe our youth.
kytmuisco: Abstinence.
Randy Cox: Condoms/sex ed with live demonstrations!
jttm: Hahaha.... you're kidding, right?
CortexBomb: Why not monogomous sex with birth control/
Lord_Prussian: The former
skelebone: Abstinence is a foolish methodology, because it presumes that young people have the willpower to overcome the hormones within them. I recall that so many things as a teenager seemed like a good idea at the time, but in retrospect were quite poor choices. If we don't educate about protection methods, then, to use a bad metaphor, we're sending people out with loaded guns and telling them not to fire.
chaddyboy_2000: As a Christian, I think abstinence until marriage is the way to go, but I realize that not everyone shares that view. Since anyone of Christian faith already knows better, and we can't preach Christianity in schools, we should probably teach condoms/sex in schools.
CDRodeffer: Abstinence / Monogamy
