¿Question #4494?
Lord_Prussian: What is your choice of game(s) to introduce someone to boardgames?
pricero1: Carcassonne
MARCUSRPG: It depends on what kinds of games they have played before.
vandemonium: Oh, TTR is pretty standard.
Caerid: Carcassonne - easy to learn, good interaction with eachother
weed131: TTR
Hendal: carcassonne, kayak chaos, TTR are some of mine
Felimid: Maori, TransAmerica, Scrabble, Settlers of Catan, to name a few.
Jatoha: oh, whatever they think sounds good
MisterCranky: I am reminded of the theme song from "Rocket Robin Hood." I am not sure why.
Septic: Rommel in the Desert. Storm Over Stalingrad. A Victory Lost. Cribbage. Euchre. Kill Dr. Lucky.
Mylantus: Carcasonne
Woelf: Pandemic, Settlers, Carcassonne, Ticket to Ride... it pretty much depends on who is learning it and which games I have with me at the time.
Polgara: TtR
ricardofo: carcassonne
gmonk: Gin if there are cards or chinese checkers. Where were these people hiding to have never seen a boardgame?
eric_s_raymond: Purto Rico. It's hard to learn, and why not start with a good one? There's a recent game called Tuchulka that I think would be good for this purpose, too.
yoda31419: Currently, Nexus Ops, Vegas Showdown, or Settlers. Depending on what I want to get them into.
cavallaj: Ticket to Ride, Through the Desert, Bohnanza, or Drakon.
mattyt91: Ticket To Ride, Carcassonne, Settlers of Catan
Phil68: Carcassonne!
chockle: Carc, Settlers, TTR
Impr3ssion: Twilight Imperium, of course.
jtrleone: Ticket to Ride or Betrayal at House on the Hill
scriptorum: Ticket to Ride has worked best so far.
DHEK: Huh... yet another common question. Anyway I'll tell you what I told them all: Settlers of Catan.

burbidge: Monopoly
aleo09: TTRE, settlers,

KentuckyKid: If non-gamers, I would try Ticket to Ride or maybe Alhambra.
chiesi: Ticket To Ride Europe, Packeis Am Pol, Hoity Toity
dmomo: TtoR, Lost Cities, Citadels
Red Dragon: Chess, because the rules are fairly straightforward, but strategy is very complex, no luck is involved, and it's popular worldwide.
Beelzebub: Depends on the person. Trans-America, Carcassonne, Ave Caesar, Adel Verplifict
caradoc: Carcassonne, Elfenland, Castle, and similar
JonBen: Ticket to Ride, Settlers, Polarity

skelebone: Usually Carcassonne, Settlers, or Ra.
chaddyboy_2000: Alhambra, TtR, Rumis.
Spielfreak: Settlers
CDRodeffer: If I like them and want them to play again, Acquire. If I don't like them or don't want them to play again, I try to overwhelm them with something like Puerto Rico, which is NOT a very good introductory game.
CortexBomb: I really don't have a single go-to game, it's usually more whatever sounds reasonable that the group wants to play at that time
Lord_Prussian: Blokus, Citadels, and Ticket to Ride
