thoia: i think you ended your question without posing the reverse as an option. I think board games based on video games generally suck balls. But video games based on board games tend to be ok.

DHEK: I don't know of any video game based on a boardgame, well except maybe Puerto Rico... and Catan... so maybe Puerto Rico because I heard some people say they were disappointed with it while I've tried Catan and it's OK.
