¿Question #464?
CDRodeffer: To avoid a glut of frivolous questions, should asking cost Geek Gold? If so, how many?
oldhoss: I like the cost of 1 GG for each question asked and earning of 1GG for every question answered.
Woelf: Hi Clark! To answer your question, no, that would be bad.
pricero1: You can charge me GG for my questions if I can charge you GG for your answers. That's sounds fair.
Svengaard: 2GG per question.
FuManchu: Over 9000.
Auramine O: 1gg per question asked about about asking questions
Caerid: Yes, it should, but then I would have no questions to answer.
bcooperok: No way. All of my questions are frivolous. This would unnecessarily devalue the frivolity market.
IanthePez: 5, please pay me for this question.
gmonk: 500 GG per question
djcack: no
gordon1018: No
capt yid: YES..at least 2 gg.
penda: But I love the frivolity! It's my new guilty pleasure!
itjoe: Asking should cost Geek Silver. I'd say asking a question is probably worth 0.1 Geek Gold. Not a huge limit, but enough so that people think before asking.
Dale-not-Chip: no
FNH1: 0.1
2amp: yes, 1 gg each?
Harkonnen13: Yes and the geek gold should all go to me.
Geosmores: yes yes yes, 5 cents
mattyt91: Great idea. Or limit the # of questions asked per user per period of time.
vertigo2192: No
SurprisedPoultry: Yes, some nominal amount, but it would be reimbursed if a good number of people answer the question
Brad Oliver: Yes - 2GG, and it should be retroactive.
DHEK: No, asking shouldn't cost GeekGold. However, askers should realize that they should conduct themselves properly and not ask questions without caring about quality.
aleo09: no.
Elf__Man: 0.05 to avoid the horrible questions
MenuGarit: Yes. It should cost .25
boylermaker: Everything you have
Ivan: No, it's the frivolous questions that make this interesting.
GrimJester: No. I and others like some of them. Tag or mark them. Perhaps: sincere, flippant, nonsense. Good question, though. [meta]
Sardukar: Yes. 1GG per 5 questions
vampywife: no, it's just for fun, so why make it so formal?
Cromaa: No
Nekura: Isn't this whole exercise frivolous?
WatchmanX2000: All
7ofAnn: Go ahead and ask what you want
bigbadsteve: that would get rid of a bunch of us...would answering have to cost something to?
jasta6: no
brainrob: Yes - 5 per question; you get 1 back for each 5 responses
Kazin: Yes. but not 1GG for one question. More like something in relation to the answers.

Gecko23: Sure, if you just want to kill them off.
Igmatto: 5
ThatFalafelGirl: no!
The Unbeliever: 42
Randy Cox: If we had to do this, charge 1 gg per question that is returned if you get 10 responses within the first 48 hours. Or make it an even more complicated formula so that no one knows whether clicking "Never Answer" will cost questioners more money or not.
meshuggener: No.
Lord_Prussian: 1 per question
skrutsch: Probably, but it should be cheap and you should get GG for answering a bunch.
MisterCranky: The whole point of an endeavor such as GeekQuestions is that frivolity is in the eye of the beholder. You were given a Never Answer button--feel free to use it.
Karlsen: You can pay me as many as you think your question is worth
snoozefest: yes! 1-5 each
scriptorum: 1GG for 3 questions
heli: nah
toulouse: Oooh, I like that. It should cost everything, and your avatar and badge should be stripped.
Toxidyne: Perhaps the questions should have tip jars, then the tips in the questions would allow for rating questions.
erli: Well, if asking costs 1 GeekGold then answering should earn 2
xlorp: First one's free kid. Then it'll cost you.
midgetsrawk: No
Wintergoblin: 1
puffinge: I think that's the wrong solution, unless you want to reduce the amount of questions to near zero.
stephensj23: Yes. One gold per question would be appropriate.
AlorielLelyn: I think questions costing Geek Gold would cut down on the number of questions by quite a bit more than you might expect. Gold isn't that easy to comeby, and at some point may be quite rare. There are a finite number of games...
Oborro: no, none
Dave: No. I don't think anything should cost Geek Gold.
Salt-Man Z: No. Actual interaction on the board (as opposed to pretty avatars, etc.) should be totally free.

Ebonwoulfe: To avoid a glut of frivolous questions, don't click "GeekQuestions", that's my solution

chaddyboy_2000: Yup, 1 a piece.
BobDodgerBlue: Yes, between 1 and 3
Vince Londini: Yes, 1GG/question

yossarians: I find this question frivolous
berserkley: no, because we would get frivolous questions from geeks with lots of gold

HBGlover: No, frivolous questions are often the most amusing.
CortexBomb: I really don't think so, the boring questions are easy enough to skip

Flyspeck23: No, of course not.
The Maverick: Why not - and Geeklists too!
Gelatinous Goo: no

Friendless: Good idea. 1.
janiera: No
CDRodeffer: I think it should, and if asking this question costs, then it can be deducted from my total. But I also think people should get credit for thoughtful answers to questions that others have asked, perhaps by rating both the questions and the answers.
ValJor: Yes. One gg per question
Jim_P: 5
ynnen: I'd say you can "buy" questions for 1 GG each, or 6 for 5 GG
