ScottBecker: On average, how many times do you need to play a game before you make up your mind about it?

Jedadeana: I keep a geeklist with my initial game impressions, and overall I honestly enjoy most games. I try to keep an open mind with games I dislike and try them multiple times, especially spaced out over time, since as I play more games I can appreciate different things. And sometimes a lot depends on with whom you play! Some games I originally hated like Race for the Galaxy and 7 Wonders I can now enjoy, others I didn't care for after more than 10 tries, like Splendor, I still don't care for, but I at least can play if others enjoy that game. A few games I loved early on now seem too "basic" to me and I would much rather play other games that fit in the same length of time. So.... to answer in a long roundabout way.... I don't ever fully make up my mind about a game. But I usually know within 1 or 3 plays how much I want to play it again, and 3 to 5 to want to own it.

oldhoss: 10 or so plays with differing player counts (if possible) over several months.
