¿Question #4718?
ssmooth: What's the farthest you can go around a Monopoly board in a single turn without going to Jail?
ocdspectrum: Do you Roll again if you get doubles?
vandemonium: 200 with the proper dice.
Caerid: \
Drakeyx: Me? personally? I don't make it past my little brother...
Qslick: By my count, 118 spaces, or almost three complete laps. Requires landing on Chance 3 times though.
MrZoz: 35 without help from cards (Ex. ride on reading...)
Woelf: 35 spaces, not counting any boosts from cards that tell you to advance to a certain location.
JordanZS: If you're going around a monopoly board, you're already IN jail. eh oh.
meija: 35 spaces just from rolling the dice, but if that 35th space is the first Chance space and sends you to Boardwalk, then 65.
Jythier: Roll a 10, land on Community Chest, advance to go, roll a 7, take a ride on the reading. 93 spaces.
johnnyspys: You play Monopoly?
Der Ubermolch: You start twenty-four space before the first Chance space. You roll twelve twice and then draw Advance to Boardwalk. Then you roll enough to land on Chance again and draw Advance to Go.
Randy Cox: Good question.
Wes Hope: 35 spaces/ guessing
Impr3ssion: Uh... 36 spaces.
DHEK: Dunno... don't really remember things like this.
Benzebub: Assuming you start at Go, and roll a 12, a 12 and an 11, you could end up on Short Line.
ZiggyZambo: um, all the way around?
aleo09: never cared to check
xlorp: And you're still no closer to escaping from the wretched prison that is Monopoly
megamanwich: 35 I believe. 2 pairs of sixes (24) and and an eleven.
eddyspaghetti: Farther than you.
unixrevolution: 35 spaces.
scriptorum: Hrm, good question. Probably under three laps.
Meshenka: Infinite. Very improbable, but possible.
mabed2798: The first stretch of it.
2amp: don't have a board in from of me, but landing on chances that say "take ride on reading", "advance to St Charles (?) & isn't there a go to boardwalk card? Of course that assumes 2 doubles & a final non-double. if that's doable.
MaksimSmelchak: It's three sets of doubles that send you to jail so 35 spaces.
heli: why?
vampywife: it depends on what, if any, chance cards you get, but if you are looking at dice only, we'll say 35 spaces.
PlanetSmasher: 35 spaces
zappothedude: 35 spaces, I presume, but I have not checked.
Csteb: Just by rolling, Short Line. With Chance cards, Boardwalk or you could wrap around. Wait, why does it matter??
Dorque: Too far.
FrozenHoHos: Boardwalk / Go (depending on how you treat distance and with a little help from a card)
blood hunter: 30 spaces
jasta6: once..................................................................................
zoopiglet: I don't think I'll waste precious brain cells on a question about Monopoly. ;)
ralpheous: 35 spaces. from Go to Short Line.
Mordachai: 12+12+11=35 spaces...
SkyBry: Depends... are Chance and O/K's cards in use?
Deeghter: Me, or my token??
fFish: 12+12+11=35 spaces? plus some lucky card draws.
brainrob: Don't really care
ssmooth: How about this: Start on Short Line RR, roll a 12 to land on the Chance space between Oriental and Vermont and draw the Advance to Boardwalk card. From Boardwalk roll double fours to land back on the same Chance square and this time draw the Advance to Go card. From Go, roll a seven to land on the same Chance square a third and final time, this time drawing Take a Ride on the Reading Railroad. That gets you 150 squares, or three and a quarter times around the board.
dwarf: I don't recall. Havn't played in years.
orodreth: My brain hurts.
mrspank: All the way to Boardwalk.
Loquutus: Don't care. I'll set myself on fire before I play Monotony again.
Riff: Euclidean or Manhattan distance?
janiera: 35 spaces
skrutsch: If you run really fast, four or five times.
Favre4MVP: 1 space.
vetinari7878: Pretty far (I think at least one round of the board).
arkibet: 12+12+11=35
Mark Smith: 35 spaces, unless you manage to land on several "chance" spaces and get sent to Illinois Ave, Reading RR, Boardwalk, a utility, etc. And the permutations of THAT are more than I care to work out this AM.
BaSL: Station South: 6/6 - Card: go to Barteljorisstraat; 3/3 - Card: go to Start; 5/6. 86 places. I think.
jttm: 12 + 12 + 11
Lord_Prussian: Pretty darned far if you count those cards, I'd think you could go all the way around as a matter of fact.
chaddyboy_2000: Ummm, all the way around.
skelebone: Hmm, I think with proper rolling and hitting Chance at the right time, one can do at least a complete circuit, if not two, provided one pulls the "Go to [property] cards, and pass Go"
CDRodeffer: You can Advance to Illinois from the Chance space after it.
Spielfreak: I can't count that high, but it involves rolling doubles and landing on Chance|Community Chest cards that cause you to move to Reading RR|Illinois Ave|Boardwalk.
