¿Question #4823?
RandallPeek: What games should have been part of the alea line, but weren't? Mammoth Hunters and Fifth Avenue seem a bit like misfires in this much-lauded line, so what would you choose to replace them to maintain the high standard?

Woelf: To quote Randy: I don't think about things that I don't think about.
Narlgoth: Monopoly?:- O
MartinWin: My new unpublished Prototype. I'm about to send it to them.
Tyndal: Agricola, El Grande, Power Grid, Goa, Web of Power
unixrevolution: I don't know....I think Tigris and Euphrates would have made a good Alea Big Boxer...
Randy Cox: Wits & Wagers, Dawn Under, Hanging Gardens, Who What Where. That would move the line up several notches.
cgund: ..
DHEK: I have no idea. I'm not familiar with stuff like that.
TheArchAngel: ?
aleo09: don't know
POvidiusNaso: Goa seems obvious, and I'll go with Santiago.
zaiga: Amun-Re and Goa
_Kael_: World in Flames
mlanza: Reef Encounter, of course!
jasta6: Don't know, don't care...........................................................................
scriptorum: If you want to maintain a high standard, hiring me as the Alea Product Line Manager is yet another misire.
Chris Page: Royal Turf and Mammoth Hunters. Not sure.
bigbadsteve: i dont know enough to answer
The Unbeliever: 42
GuyHill: excellent question! i cant reaaly think of any at the moment, but there should be
Jim_P: Both games are welcome additions to the line... especially Fifth Avenue. I wouldn't replace them at all. I think that Chinatown is a weaker game than either of them.
djlg: Goa, Maharaja or PowerGrid
jttm: If they were part of, then they should be.
CortexBomb: Goa, Im Schatten des Kaisers
chaddyboy_2000: Trias, and more Trias.
Lord_Prussian: Power Grid and Age of Steam
skelebone: I disagree that they're misfires, but if I had to choose games to replace them, Goa and Power Grid.
CDRodeffer: I disagree with your misfire comment, not having played them to be able to make that judgement. But if I could add games to the "Alea" line from other manufacturers, or even elsewhere within Ravensburger, I'd suggest Maharaja, Torres, Keythedral, Alhambra and Redemption: City of Bondage as possibly fitting the genre.
Dave: I agree that Goa seems like an alea game, and I'm not complimenting either Goa or alea with that assessment.
Spielfreak: Hey! Both of these are fine games. I think the problem is with people's expectations. That said, both Goa and Tahuantinsuyu would have been good additions to the alea line.
