¿Question #4833?
Gialmere: True Life Gaming: On a scale of 1-10, how would you rate your local game store?

BOBBYCAN: I'd give it a ten if we had one,.
Veratul: 8
Deadtazzfreak: 1
Obi Wann: 3
Woelf: 8
Spirit of 70: 8.
penroff4: 0. Internet; although I wish I had a local game store.
NateStraight: 0
Blott: 3.14
Hendal: is a 7 hour drive still considered local? The Keep in Akron Ohio, when I visit family, rocks and about a 7.5
mschlat: 3
KillerPower: Unfortunatly, I dont have one.... :o(
mathguy6189: 4
forthur: 6. Nice collection, but way too small. And they're not BGG geeks.
pooterbug: 6
daveroswell: 0 Since it's gone
pwilz: I don't really have a local game store.
MamaRat: We have three (I know, we're spoiled rotten.) Get Your Game On is our favorite, I'd give it an 8.5. The selection isn't extensive but the owner will happily special order. He has game demos and game nights periodically, though the games being demo'd often aren't ones we're particularly keen on. We like it the best because the owner is super friendly without being pushy. Vault of Midnight has a tremendous selection but somehow just isn't as warm and welcoming; the employees are knowledgeable but seem less genuinely friendly, so I give it a 7. I can't even remember the name of the third one, it's the newest and had a tiny selection the one time we were in there, and the owner would NOT shut up, kept jabbering at us about all the cool games he was eventually going to have. Highly irritating, I give it a 4.
WatchmanX2000: which one of the three?
artavash: 5
zemus: 7
Frubgarde: I'll give it a 7.5 and long may it continue.
shteev: 3. I don't mind the poor selection, since they're a small shop, and they will order stuff for you... what I mind is the total insenserity of the owners. They'll genuinely tell you that any old crap is actually great, and I find that intensely irritating.
Freitag: 3. Lousy customer service and poor stock selection. The store has been replaced with a new store with poor selection and better service.
GrandpaDave: 6
aleo09: 7
atrium: 4
ctrzn: 4
chockle: Since Keith bought it, built shelves, hosted in-store gaming, I'd give it a 9.
Brad Oliver: 6. They're quite pricey for little extra value.
kingmaker fan: Do I have to have one to answer?
Andrew Snyder: 9
DHEK: Hmmm... just 5 maybe. Average.
slagbeast: 8
jruddy: 7.5 - Bayshore Hobbies, Hamilton, ON
Ebon Wendigo: Most of them are 8's , one is a 10.
martybjsg: Not sure how to rate the non-existance of my local game store. I give it 1 for not existing, serves it right!
POvidiusNaso: 10.
mcross: 6
deacondavid: 5
pablito76: Local: 3. Not so local: 6. Not-not so local: 8 (the best in Italy). not-so-local-considering-that-I-make-orders-ofter-there: 8
them: American Eagles: 8 (decent service, prices not as bad as most, hours could be better)
Sardukar: 8
Mark_WH: 1
Isolde_deely: 8
vampywife: I can't really rate it fairly. The local game stores have loads of games, so that's an 8-10, but they are all in German, for the most part, so that's no good for me. There are a couple of sorta-local shops for miniatures and they are great, another 8-10.
Suzan: 8
Hoju: one 5 minutes away? 5, one the I buy from 45 minutes away?10
Sceadeau: 0
Favre4MVP: 8
Shotmagnet: no local store, closest would get a 2, if I travel over 60 miles I can reach a few 9s and a 10
Gwahlur: The mail order firm I use does deserve a nine.
scribidinus: An 8 for now. Getting better
Helenoftroy: 4.5
TMJJS: 4
brainrob: 6
Grimwold: 8
SteveK2: 3: nice people, but very limited stock
skrutsch: 8
djlg: 6
Gregol: 5
jellospike: 3
shawn_low: Mindgames: 5.5 (too pricey). The Games Shop: 5 (poor selection, pricey). Milsims: 7 (good range and ok prices). Dungeon of Magic: 5 (would be 6 if the owner smiled a little more!).
gregor1863: 8, good selection of titles and friendly staff
_Kael_: Local? Hmmm. That would be nice. I'll rate the nearest a 7
billgoode: There are two stores near me that I go to regularly. The first I would rate a 9 on knowledge and personality, but only a 4.5 on selection. The other one I would rate a 2 on knowledge and personality, but an 8 on selection. I try to shop at the one with the smart owners, but if they don't have something that I want I'll go to the other one.
BaSL: 6
Loquutus: 0 for not even existing
angrykane: What local game store?
vetinari7878: 7
Culvan: Oh, about a 6. Good prices, good staff, but they're always out of stock of whatever I happen to want that day (or they only have French copies), well stocked in tempting things I had no intention of buying but end up buying anyway because the game I wanted isn't there, and on the wrong side of the city so I can't do this often enough.
flyinghogfish: It's too far away... but a 7
ZombyDawg: 5
Yollege: 9
GuyHill: 5
dakarp: Maybe a . They rarely have anything i want
sos1: Zero. (There isn't one.)
puffinge: Is 1 good or bad? Ah hahahahahahaha
007wastaken: 6
jttm: Fantasy Gaming: What was that?
CortexBomb: I'd say a solid 9
beakermyers: Is one good or bad, my local store sucks.
chaddyboy_2000: How are these still True Life Gaming questions?
Lord_Prussian: 8
Great Dane: 5
skelebone: 2 -- mostly RPG
CDRodeffer: The Underworld was AWESOME, an 11. I was in there all the time. But one customer can't keep a store running, and they closed last week. :-( Other game stores in the area are, so far, not nearly as good, in the 4 to 6 range.
Dave: 9, but I have little to compare to.
Spielfreak: 6
