¿Question #4837?
Gialmere: True Life Gaming: Do you think that the most accurate way to depict Formula 1 racing with a game would be to line the cars up and just stare at them for an hour and a half - occasionally leaning in and flicking one off the board?
Hector Vortac: Not a fan but even I know they move around real fast. Put them on a lazy susan and spin around a lot without changing the order. THEN flick one off.
Hendal: um, no, really you do?
Woelf: Try it and let us know how it goes.
Felimid: Nope. I'd rather play "Formula De" or "Le Mans".
pastorn: yes
pwilz: Race car games are _much_ more exciting than actual car races.
The Unbeliever: 42
2amp: YES!
Rosebud: Wow... somebody finally gets it. I knew I wasn't the only NASCAR fan! That, by the bye, was sarcasm.
cgund: LOL.
capt yid: Yes
ositobrian: no
wetwebwork: With the stereo on painfully loud, yes.
DHEK: Of course there are better ways, but what other better ways are there that will translate well to a boardgame and still be fun?
aleo09: could be
mjharper: No. As a Formula 1 adict, I regard the suggestion with the utmost contempt.
Boomer: no
scriptorum: No, I think that's actually the "least accurate" depiction I've heard thus far. In any case, your True Life Gaming slogan is getting old...
Greedo: I would line them up, then tilt the table to see which car fell off the other end first. That's be about as interesting as watching a race on TV.
HScottBuck: Sure
bjorneriksson: Yes
Cut & Space: Since I never look at formula 1, the best way to depict would be to not play.
the_redstar_swl: You mean NASCAR right?
FrozenHoHos: Yeah, it's called PitchCar.
Elbourne: lol
cobbz20: Too funny.
BeatPosse: if you whip your head back and forth once every 4 or five minutes
POvidiusNaso: Not really. Most races have some movement - even F1 racing.
marshalljansen: HAH
Nekura: You actually have to put them on a Lazy Susan so they go around in circles.
Mordachai: No.
dwarf: No.
Chris Page: No, you need to take turns doing impressions of three-card-monte sharks.
RealBadMoFo: yes
brainrob: Line the cars up, randomly remove 2/3rds of them, the one left in front wins
Tushratta: Yes--but which one would you flick?
richdknows: yes
jellospike: Yeah. Car racing is boring as hell.
billgoode: Last april, I was really drunk. That night I learned why they call it 'getting pissed'.
bigbadsteve: it might help to occasionally set one on fire, too.
ZombyDawg: no
Odat: No, but it sounds like a more interesting way to play monopoly.
djlg: If you want to simulate being a spectator, yes. Not if you want the experience of DRIVING.
Tim Synge: Never played it.
jttm: Why would you waste time staring?
CortexBomb: Not formula 1, but definitely Nascar. I think formula 1 is at least passably interesting
chaddyboy_2000: No.
Lord_Prussian: Sounds good to me
skelebone: Very clever. I was thinking similarly that one could simulate nascar by putting toy cars on a turntable and rotating it for 250 laps.
CDRodeffer: Heh. For Indy / CART racing, yes. F1 is much more interesting.
puffinge: I think they would have to move for true realism.
Spielfreak: no
