¿Question #630?
shotokanguy: Does it bother you that entropy is increasing in the universe?
Woelf: It's a made-up concept that only exists to make thermodynamics equations work.
ocdspectrum: Come again?
LoupSolitaire: Nowhere near as alarming as the increasing stupidity of humans.
MABBY: No; it bothers me that I don't understand entropy well enough, though.
TiwazTyrsfist: You're question contains an assumption that I don't accept.
vandemonium: I'll go with a static "meh."
batesbj: Yes - I like Order!
xofour: I figure if I don't pay any attention to it, it won't pay any attention to me.
atrium: Yes. We should do something about it.
Rileywiebe: Trick question! There is, in fact, no universe.
Solocutor: No
falloutfan: Not really - I'm moving too slowly to notice.
Harkonnen13: I lose sleep over it.
cgund: not as much as some other things
Darkehorse: No. It's increasing at greater rate right under my roof
Farren: No sense in fighting the inevitable.
fordescort79: If I knew what entropy was then maybe
shteev: It used to, you know. S=k log W, and all that. But then I found out about Maxwell's Demon, and it helped me sleep better.
RKFade: Only the entropy in my thighs. I need to go to the gym.
ositobrian: I don't believe in entropy
aleo09: not at all
Maijin: No. Praise Nurgle, Tzeentch and Khorne! Maybe.
DHEK: No. It doesn't affect me, so I'm not really too bothered.
withness: Entropy always bothered me, whatever it did.
Sifu: No.
dsmeyer: no
Havoc: Sometimes it bothers me a bit, and that bothers me.
GrimJester: Yes. So much so that I asked the computer years ago to work on a way to decrease total entropy. It's still processing...
Philip Thomas: No
vampywife: if it were increasing for sure, it might bother me, but there really isn't a solution to fix it.
zaiga: Not in the least
MagBas: It is slightly disturbing.
mkgray: Yes
WatchmanX2000: In a very esoteric way I find the fact to be somewhat disconcerting until I think about who will be around when it maximizes and then I have to point out.... it won't matter to anyone.
scriptorum: No, but I don't plan on living long enough to feel its effects.
SkyBry: Nah.
confuse_a_cat: Ah, so you think. In reality, this thing that you call "entropy" is really a type of order so complex that you cannot begin to understand it, at least not without the mind of a criminal genius. Mwah ha ha!
bigbadsteve: i havent really given it much thought
Superdeathflame: Entropy isn't what it used to be.
Loquutus: Yes. We must stop this 'entropy'.
ZombyDawg: No.
davebo: No, I bought entropy at $4.50 a share.
Yollege: Sometimes
illicit: Yes, and I am going to write my congressman about it.
e.c.r.: occasionally
Dr. No: no, at least there is a chance of getting thin in the long run
mogli43: Au contraire, I try to add the entropy whenever I can: ufjrefhdasfhjduen
sourwyrm: how would you know?
Lord_Prussian: No
Bahamut-X: Gives me nightmares
Randy Cox: Who says it is? Is this another Fox "News" report?
Snappatoon: Why yes
AWildEep: Nope. But then again, I don't care much either. ;)
Igmatto: no, because given a constant entropy, energy always minimizes
xlorp: Entropy RULES!
Mike A: No. How else could we keep track of the direction of time?
Karlsen: Not at all
Defdamesdompi: no
Sceadeau: Doesn't entropy suffer from entropy?
abimilech: No, I just keep it in my entropy case to show everyone!
skrutsch: No.
dpuskas73: Being bothered that entropy is increasing implies that you are recalling a fonder time in your life when there was less entropy in the universe than there is now. That is to say, you remember the past. If entropy was DEcreasing, you would not remember the past; you would have knowledge of future events but no knowledge of the past. So then does this question mean "Does it bother you that you remember the past?", or, "Does it bother you that you don't know the future?" My answer to both would be yes, at times, it does bother me.
jimchris: It's kind of cool.
Jern: No
mrbeankc: Only if it will delay football season. If not I'm fine with it.
thoia: no
2amp: no
UhhhClem: That's a little like being bothered by the sun rising in the east.
batman: Yes, when will it stop?
solove: Not until you pointed it out
Fal: So does mine and who cares?
AlorielLelyn: Not particularly
DenverWolf: YES
isolated: Man I tell you, I can hardly sleep at night.
Debate: Entropy is increasing? Shit! Run for your life!
jens_hoppe: Nope
Oborro: inert matter does not cause cancer... So were are increasing to a better state...
dakarp: Nah. I learned to accept thermodynamics long ago.
gnomehome: Are you sure of that ?
tragicpoet: Nah
Chris Schreiber: no
erfalucho: phfft... why bother?
echoota: Is it? I thought the universe was just accelerating. Be kind of cool though... as Hereclitus said, "everything is in flux"
Grimwold: well my waistline is increasing, so I guess it all balances out in the end.
Jackwraith: Does it matter? We're all doomed, anyway...
fsumarc: postitve or negative?
GuyHill: No
Blackwind: nope
m_r_tyler: I haven't really stopped to notice.
DangerMouse: Yeah, a little.
chaddyboy_2000: Huh?
Reloaded: nope... better to be growing then shrinking IMHO...
geberus: no
djlg: Disorder's cool!
jttm: Nahh...
dietevil: Not really
haraggan: I have more immediate problems
sdownin: Not at all
Ilikegames: Not at all.
phantomvortex: No, it doesn't bothealkclksdlklakdjicaid aidi a;d; asdi idi isld al....
hibikir: it would bother me if it was decreasing.
louiseh: Not at all.
Ludocrazy: No
BobDodgerBlue: Not really, learned to live with it I guess
Torbin_Bequette: nope.
Melantha: nope. keeps things interesting.
Eric Haas: No
ScottBecker: sort of
Pseudo Nymh: Order moves to disorder, and systems break down. ...I guess that means that someday, the law of entropy will take care of itself.
CDRodeffer: No
snoozefest: no
Shakar: Is it increasing, or it's our awarness of it, which is increasing?
WasQ: nop
einbebop: no
queequeg: i got no choice man...
EYE of NiGHT: Are you sure? How come the background radiation is equal?
CortexBomb: No, I derive a certain masochistic enjoyment from it actually
shumyum: it rocks!
ValJor: No, I'm pretty zen about it
Flyspeck23: No.
Friendless: No, but that does explain George W Bush.
Spielfreak: So is my waist line, which bothers me even more.
ynnen: At least something is.
skelebone: No. I'll just keep lining up my books to increase the order.
