¿Question #664?
mrbeankc: If you could personally witness any battle in history, which battle would it be?

BOBBYCAN: Midway.
imyourskribe: Peleliu or Okinawa
Tenpence: Gettysburg
Tracker4502: Hmm. To entirely sidestep the question, I would have liked to have seen the political battle for the US Presidency in 1925.
weed131: Spartacus defeats Publicola and Clodianus in 72 BC, this would be the equivinat of Canada successfully defeating the US military in a present day battlefield conflict
pwilz: Jennifer Love Hewitt vs Eva Longoria Jello wrestling match.
ricardofo: Bull Run or the first Manassas
twixter: Armageddon
Zamomin: Battle of Cannae.

Wilhammer: Midway
Boltana: Gettysburg
servo19: This week I would say Rocroi since I am learning Under the Lily Banners
Woelf: Hampton Roads
Silage: Salamis from the shoreline.
Embark: That's a tough question. I would have to say that the Battle of Iwo Jima would be my choice. I have been to the island and seen the battleground. Pluse my being a Marine plays into my decision since it was a crucial battle in the pacific theatre.
syphon: Trafalgar.
corduroy: NONE! I don't want to see the reality and horror of battle, ever.
Darilian: Finally, a good one. Charonea. The first one, between Phillip and Alexander and the Athenians with her allies.

Dvlbrd666: Battle on Endor

Grungydan: Yorktown

Geosmores: I would not wish to witness a battle.
Cut & Space: any battle that involves 2 girls and mud
nix342: hmmm...good one...my history isn't what it should be...hmmm...I think watching Hannibal drive those elephants over the Alps would be a pretty darned cool thing to see. But I guess that's not a battle. I suppose D-Day would be the one battle to witness of the modern era. Perhaps also the Boston Massacre. But again, not really a battle.

Tushratta: Kadesh
ZombyDawg: That's an interesting question. As a military history nut I'm tempted to quickly type in one of the battles that has the most drama or interesting footnotes, etc. But having studied the subject a bit, on further reflection, it's like being asked the question "what couple of thousand horrible, fatal car wrecks would you like to see and on what freeway?" But having said that the battles that I would like to understand on a more visual level would be (in this order): Stalingrad, Franklin, and Cannae (horrible multiple car wrecks all).
