¿Question #220305?
rayzg: Regarding GQ #220260: Is your disinterest in Spielberg’s remake of West Side Story based on your opinion that West Side Story doesn’t need a remake, or is it based on your disinterest in musicals in general? I’d be sad if it’s the latter :-(
MABBY: I guess you're gonna be sad, then.
flaeryn: West Side Story doesn't need a remake. There are plenty of other musicals that don't even have a movie to begin with. Make one of those. Also, West Side Story is a bit overrated IMO, and I do love musicals.
Inkedad: (1.) SS hasn't made a good movie in a long time (B.) WSS doesn't need to be remade (PS.) WSS wasn't good to begin with. Sorry not sorry
PolarDad: I really like some musicals but there are plenty I find tedious. West Side Story was ok but felt long. I've never felt compelled to watch it again.
Woelf: I liked the version I watched many years ago, but had no idea there was a remake or that Spielberg was attached to it. It'll probably be good, but I have no strong desire to seek it out.
pricero1: West Side Story is a great musical, though I think that the movie (like nearly all of the classic 50s and 60s musicals) is at least 30 minutes too long. It would be interesting if the remake were grittier like the original stage musical.
imyourskribe: :\\\ sorry, bruh
RavingLoon: ... I feel like I'm disappointing you, but what is West Side Story? Does it have a dog in it?
