Grimsalt: Grocery stores : why can't they put the fresh fruits and veggies at the END of the store, so they don't get squished in your shopping cart?

TomTi89: Regardless of layout, I try to grab frozen items first, refridgerated second, and others last, although I don't always have a set plan for that. Wife likes to go in a different order, and she is the one who goes shopping usually, so my plan is irrelevant.
Grimsalt: Thank you for the insight and suggestion. I *will* work the grocery store backwards, as soon as Covid arrow directions are removed. *sigh*
MABBY: You just need to go the other way around the store. But seriously, most grocery stores are judged by their produce selection so they lay it out first so you can spend all of your dough there before adding to the bill later on. And then you aren't thinking that you have so much stuff in your cart that you can't afford apples this week.

mattomaw: Because then they go first on the checkout and thus first in the bag thus they get squashed in the bag. Either way squashed veg is reality. Yoghurt cartons are another story.
