Blinko: You ever buy your kids a box of AA batteries for their game devices only to later discover they do not dispose of the batteries but just place them atop various pieces of furniture and you ar not sure if batteries are depleted or not?

mr3d: Now we use rechargeable batteries and the kids know how to recharge them on their own. Before, I bought a multimeter pretty much just for that and we still have a box with used, another with semi used and then one for the new batteries (and surely enough they end up getting mixed up sooner rather than later).

Woelf: Fortunately, no. Any time something of theirs needs batteries they bring it to me and I replace it for them, so the dead batteries get taken care of immediately. Granted, we also have a bag of "used but still good" batteries that were taken out of things that had been used for a bit but then put in storage (or were annoying) so the batteries got pulled. We try to use up those first, but it doesn't always work that way.
