¿Question #228153?
pricero1: Why do people have two kidneys, but don’t have two livers?

Phil%20Fleischmann: Because God wants us to produce twice as much urine as we produce bile.
Woelf: The liver can regenerate as long as enough remains. Most other organs aren't so easily replaced.
BOBBYCAN: I guess it depends on how hungry they are.
Jedadeana: My grandfather only had one kidney, which wasn't discovered until after he died during an autopsy
TheGrimReeple: Not everyone does. My dad has one. My ex's mum has three. Anyways, there's no reason why the quantities of different organs would or should match. Might as well suggest that I should have ten eyes because I have ten toes, or twenty-nine and a half lungs because I have twenty-nine and a half teeth.
TomTi89: Maybe we ran out of room in there.
