¿Question #228890?
Grimsalt: Have you ever read a Tolkien book OTHER than LOTR or Bilbo The Hobbit?

Grimsalt: Reading everyone's answers has been quite endearing. The Silmarillion warmed me up to Shakespeare but funnily enough, I could never finish The Hobbit. I'm currently reading "Sir Gawain and The Green Knight" which is so punny that's it's almost like reading Medieval GQs.
Derang3d: Read the Silmarillion this year for the.. idk fourth time? Also read the one with the tree and leafs, and super brave farmer, a few decades ago. Possibly the Unfinished Tales - I have vague memories but am not sure. Children of Hurin was kinda cool even if it doesn't add much to what's in the Silmarillion, but I won it in a contest so that's enough for me ^^.
RealGuest: I finally read The Silmarillion a year or two back. It was mostly a good read, actually. I found LotR to be a bit of a slog, too. The Hobbit is amazing and have read it several times even though I rarely reread books.
Jedadeana: Of course!
Ruesailmana: I have them all and read them all, as far as they have been published and obtainable.
TheGrimReeple: Leaf By Niggle, the Silmarillion, and Children Of Hurin.
mattomaw: I read The Silmarrilion. Dunno why people say it is hard work. I loved it. Grandiose stories! I read quite a few books by his son that were actually unfinished stuff done by his father. I think I read Farmer Giles of Ham when I was young but actually cannot remember If I did, it obviously left no impression on me whatsoever.
pricero1: I read The Silmarillion, but I found it hard work and ultimately unsatisfying.
Blinko: Grinding through the Silmarillion again. It is like reading the Bible in Greek whilst not knowing how to read Greek.
TomTi89: Not yet.
