Blinko: There is an instant win card for the Shadow player and the Free People player in War of the Ring, what is your view on these types of cards in a lengthy game?

freechinanow: Those promos were clearly intended for a laugh. Yes, they are playable, but no one taking things seriously would include them.
PolarDad: It depends whether I have the card or you do.
Derang3d: Yeah, depends on how much effort it takes and how telegraphed it is. In general I'd argue that a separate win condition is good, really - much like the original book. Unlike the actual book, you can't just do a thing and suddenly win. How to handle it, well IDK, but Scotland Yard seems like a good place to start.
Woelf: If it's a known thing that takes a lot of effort to work toward, and they don't come into play until late in the game, I generally don't mind them. If it's just something you can whip out at random after drawing it, then it's big problem.
