¿Question #3246?
Ludocrazy: Is dodgeball bad for kids to play?
ocdspectrum: If they have a choice it’s better than if they have to play.
BOBBYCAN: I remember the sting!
dhable: Probably. Everything is bad for kids today.
richcharters: If you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a ball!
Ladybug3: nope
Strulg: No.
Mullins014: Not if it's organized. Playground games can be brutal though.
Felimid: Why? Sure beats alcohol and drug addiction and bullying.
aetwitch: no way, kids need to be tough
Woelf: If they are of sufficient age to play it, no.
Der Ubermolch: No. Generations of kids have survived dodgeball just fine.
xofour: I don't see how it could be. It has been a staple of physical education for more decades than I care to count.
richard schwab: Only if they get hit to many times. Dodge is the hey word.
randomguy132: Nope, toughens 'em up.
Nevin: Dodgeball - one of my favorite middle school memories...
MamaRat: I once got a concussion because someone slammed me in the back of the head with a bouncy rubber ball, so I'm going to vote yes, it's too dangerous.
Cringing Dragon: I wouldn't think so. I guess there's some risk of injury, but no more so than many other outdoor activities. Anything that gets them moving is probably better than sitting in front of a game machine.
falloutfan: Mmm, yes. Hitting is not cool.
tickmanfan: Nah
ChukLife: Yes.
Joseph Hill: yes
Mondior: Nope... A good hard rubber ball to the head always builds character
ronster0: only the ones who are badly coordinated
kingmaker fan: Nope.
DHEK: No... why would it be?
Butterbane: Only the kids that can't dodge or throw.
hacksword: No, it develops an important resistance to pain and humiliation.
Lothartvni: It's worth a bloody nose every now and then.
CardboardCultist: Heck Yes! My Arm was broken by a dodge-ball in 4th grade!
ben21: no, its the best game ever
POvidiusNaso: No way.
rootbeer: Heck no.
aleo09: no
produceguy1765: no
ellephai: Depends. Would it be the version where scrawny, prepubescent little 12-year-olds are mixed into the same gym class with giant, hulking, musclebound 18-year-olds, and you play against a backdrop of folded-up wooden bleachers, so that when some crazed behemoth from the other team pegs the ball at your head as hard as he can, your head (or some other body part, depending on his aim) gets painfully crushed between the impact of the ball and the hard wooden bleachers? That's how we played it at my high school. And if so, then yes. But if we're talking about some elementary kids gathered outdoors having a friendly game, then maybe not so bad.
ZiggyZambo: Only for the ones who suck.
ansc1023: not at all
pvgames: geekgold
vampywife: it's probably not the best thing, no.
mooka: nope
SisyphusX: No.
Skycaptain: No.
Tailuje: I hope not.
l7productions: No
Splinter: Only if they are not dodging
dictator555: Only for kids with glasses.
imaraggamuffin: bad no, dangerous, yes.
scriptorum: It's bad for kids to suck at, because they'll get thwacked.
confuse_a_cat: I'd say that it is not, generally speaking, but it will depend on circumstances, of course.
TMJJS: no
Deeghter: dunno
RyanMC: Hell no, its fun
erli: No, it's a game that redefines pain
orodreth: Only if the ball is made of stone or metal.
LemonyFresh: Not bad, as such
Platinum Dragon: Depends how soft the balls are.
janiera: no
Kazin: No. It builds character.
brainrob: Only for slow kids
Unitbuster: Man, only pansy hippies have a problem with dodgeball. Now if we were talking about kids playing something really seriously dangerous, like red rover or chainsaw dueling or crossfire, then yeah, we'd have something.
Megadev: No way. Learning disappointment is crucial in child development.
bobthemundane: No.
Tushratta: Not at all. If done right, it weans them away from any sense of mercy for wimps.
jasta6: no
javelin98: No
ssmooth: No. They shouldn't try to hurt each other, though.
e.c.r.: no
Belash: no
ValJor: No, I think it is educational
skrutsch: no.
sourwyrm: i liked it
CharlieWonka: Nah
Lord_Prussian: No way. It's greeeeaaaat!
dakarp: nah
Gamegrunt: No
forster925: no
2amp: no
mrbeankc: Nahhh
scribidinus: Not unless they are using real Dodges. When I was kid getting hit by a Dodge Dart really hurt.
djlg: Probably, but it didn't affect me....much.
snoozefest: no
jttm: Its okay, in good fun
CortexBomb: No, kids are durable
skelebone: Perhaps, but I don't remember playing it when I was youger, so I don't have emotions tied up the whole affair.
chaddyboy_2000: No.
CDRodeffer: No
Spielfreak: no
heli: I think it should be optional rather than required.
