¿Question #3852?
TaliaIsabelle: Expansions: Good or Bad?
MartinWin: Bad.
Felimid: Yes.
Randy Cox: Bad.
ricardofo: as good or as bad as the quality of the game
vandemonium: Some are good, some are bad.
Berud: mostly bad, but everything have exeptions (for example carcassone)
Woelf: Depends entirely on the expansion. Some are really good while others just add more stuff. I can't think of one that I'd call "bad", though - and yes I have played Carc: The Catapult.
Moose Jaw: Indeed!
Spirit of 70: Good!
Jatoha: good
Ebon Wendigo: Good, as long as they're good expansions. You don't have to buy them but if somebody wants more then there ya go.
jp21763: good
Sen045: good!
Hendal: yes
Narlgoth: good :- 1
Sideburn: GOOD! They either add something interesting to the game or (if they don't) ignore 'em!!!
cleonhard: For a good game, good! For a bad game, who cares?
DaGen: Good, most of the time.. Altough I really have my doubts about Cattan
arkibet: both.
Onionking: Good
TheArchAngel: depends on the original game
DHEK: Generally good.
Twkw: Good.
zman44: Good or bad, depending on what game.
william_henshaw: 50/50
POvidiusNaso: Good sometimes, bad sometimes.
Loggy: good!
tdyck: Generally, I do not know, but Settlers of Catan in much better with expansions. However, they should have included the 5&6 player expansion instead of charging extra. Greedy money suckers.
Geniesse: It depends on the expansion, I'd guess. (I do wonder why they don't put the expanded material in the base game, though...)
Capitaine Grappin: gooooooood
gutshot45_70: Depends
tomlynch: Just to add more players = bad. Otherwise I will buy all expansions to games I like.
Beelzebub: Depends on the game
mooka: good
nibuen: good
brainrob: Depends on the game - some are good, some are the pits.
Avatar_69: Good in general. Carcassone went too far though.
mlanza: Good. To each his own.
joebelanger: I hate them as much as I love them.
BeatPosse: Fantastic.
Chris Page: Generally good, as long as the game plays well without them.
Solaris: Bad. Sometimes they make a game BETTER, but this means that the game should be *redesigned*, rather than split in two boxes ....
LemonyFresh: Good
bigbadsteve: it really depends on the original game. often times, they are good though
ZombyDawg: It depends. In games that are actually systems such as ASL it's all about the expansions. Sometimes they aren't necessary but can add interest which can be good. Sometimes it seems to change the game into something else like Cities and Knights.
Ivan: Depends but generally bad.
shawn_low: BAD!!! Look at Carc and Alhambra.
Syrion: Bad.
xscape: in between
skrebs: Good ones are good and bad ones are bad. Example, buying Settlers C&K in German when you don't read German is BAD (which I did). T2R Mystery Train is GOOD since it encourages drawing from the route pile which makes the game, imo, more interesting.
Loquutus: Vague Questions: good or bad?
mrbeankc: good
Tushratta: Depends. Games that should never have been shouldn't be expanded.
Belash: Good
kimapesan: What? This game makes me look fat?
MochaKimono: Good.
puffinge: more often bad, sometimes good
matthew.marquand: yes
Jim_P: Mostly good
djlg: Neither. Just mostly unnecessary.
CharlieWonka: Good
GuyHill: Good
obob: yes
scriptorum: http://www.boardgamegeek.com/question/3853
skrutsch: neutral
ValJor: Bad for your wallet
Mikebegeta: good
Lord_Prussian: Bad
dbmurph22: Some are good
jttm: Depends obviously
CortexBomb: Most often good, but sometimes a waste, and sometimes wreck the game
chaddyboy_2000: Didn't I just answer this?
Dave: Generally, good.
CDRodeffer: Cosmic Encounter expansions: Good. And I can't think of any right now that are truly bad.
skelebone: Well, it's since it's really as black and white as all that, I'll stick with indifferent.
Spielfreak: Bad
