¿Question #4230?
skelebone: If a regular good game were available as a Cheapass verison for 1/4 the price, would you purchase the Cheapass one instead of the one with nice bits?
Fribian: Maybe not.
Woelf: I'd consider it, if the Cheapass version was still decent, and the full game version's improvement didn't seem worth the additional price.
ocdspectrum: hmmmmmmmm, it depends.
Tiggerous: How nice are these 'nice' bits?
RonCarlson01: Are we talking TI3...? LOL
jkubli: Depends on what the cheap venison excluded.
rseater: about half the time
Kingy: well if its something I can make, cheaper no. I will buy the quality one.
ajax013: no.
senorcoo: Nope. No chance.
choco_addict: Nope
Dammawail97: Probably the good one since I prefer collecting them
xofour: How pathetic would I be for buying both? No seriously. I would totally try the cheapass verion, but if it were really awesome I would buy the whole shebang. I mean, it would be like boardgame shareware.
puffinge: Probably not, but maybe.
waza: It still depends on the game
dogzard: yes
jbuergel: Depends on how much I liked the game
rootbeer: Yeah, sometimes. Maybe for 25% of games.
Roja: I do like the chrome in games, though there is an optimum in price vs. quality
jredd: I'd probably shell out the extra cash for the nice bits.
Rockhead: Probably not, if I really like the game...
thewretched99: If I didn't know the game, cheap is fine. Depends on the pieces, too
Ebon Wendigo: Probably the one with nice bits.
DHEK: It depends on the price and the quality of the bits and games. I wouldn't mind paying normal (full) price for good stuff, but if the Cheapass version isn't so bad or if the price difference is too great, I might opt for Cheapass.
Chad Jensen: nopety-nope
Eric Haas: Probably not.
aleo09: need more info.
Redcap3210: Buy the nice one and support th
martybjsg: Yes.
Colors: Probably not
mpw182: nope ima bit whore
2amp: no
tmcconville: I'd block the Cheapass version out of my mind so my conscience doesn't scold me. BITS!!!
produceguy1765: no
Capitaine Grappin: Maybe, depends of the game
tbraut: no.
ryokowerx: No
sergood: Yes
dmomo: Depends on the bits, yes?
Dweeb: I'm rich, so I'd splurge. I even have Deluxe 6 Nimmt, for cryin' out loud!
Helenoftroy: no
nibuen: depends on the game, but probably not
Lardarse: Depends on how nice the bits are...
scriptorum: Depends. If the nice bits are nice and the price is still reasonable (compared to other games with good bits), I'd go for the nicer package.
joebelanger: yup
ststrat: yes
Riff: No
Kaleidos Funtastic: nice bits
bigbadsteve: depends on the game, if i really liked the game, i would go for the nice pieces
korppu: Depends on the game
Karlsen: Yes
LemonyFresh: It's too early to decipher this question
AbeLincoln: nice bits. and i'd buy it twice just to make sure they kept making it with nice bits.
djflippy: No. Bits rock.
SgtTodd: Definately
chrisisapimp: heck ya im cheap
GrandpaDave: No
ZombyDawg: nope
ssmooth: I'd have to decide how much I liked the bits.
javelin98: No, I like the bitz.
gamesbook: Call me cheap but, yes. 4 great games for the price of 1?! I'd then decide which was best and "upgrade" it with cool components...
SteveK2: probably not
motoyugota: Most likely not
Dave: Not at this point in my life.
quarks: Probably not
louiseh: Possibly.
skrutsch: I'd say it would depend on the game...I'd certainly consider it.
Dante_Cubit: No. I'm a bits-freak.
obob: depends on how nice the "nice bits" are. I've seen some pretty crappy ones, and sometimes enjoy making my own.
jttm: Expensive one
chaddyboy_2000: Depends how much 1/4 of the price is. If it's a $20 game, probably not. If it's a $100 game, probably.
Lord_Prussian: Probably not
Spielfreak: *SQUAWK* I'm a parakeet, and will always opt for the nice bits. Give us the bits, give us the bits. *SQUAWK*
CDRodeffer: You know, I might just do that. I make my own for stuff that's long out of print or public domain abstracts anyway.
CortexBomb: I think it depends on the game, but in general, no. I buy few enough games where the extra price wouldn't hurt me that much, and appearance is important
skelebone: I'd still probably go with the nice bits, even if it would mean my gaming dollar wouldn't stretch as far.
